Came here to try their dessert and drinks... the restaurant was no where near full yet they sent us to a table with other people on it, when there were empty tables on the other side of the restaurant - why? Anyway, upon sitting down a waiter asked us what we wanted straight away... we told him to give us some time. Anyway, upon sitting down a waiter asked us what we wanted straight away... we told him to give us some time. So after about 5 minutes we decided to order:
1) Almond tea drink (hot) $14
2) Iced red bean fleecy drink
3) ginger egg custard
4) egg white and milk custard
The verdict:
Almond tea was very good. It arrived steaming hot and it was rich, and sugar was on the table for you to adjust the sweetness. I think they added evaporated milk to this drink? Because the colour was certainly like that of evaporated milk, though the taste was almond.
Ginger egg custard: The colour was very nice, the texture was also nice but not as smooth as the egg-white and milk custard, their specialty. The taste was good but not as good as i had hoped.
Egg white and milk custard: This arrived wobbling, but it was actually set perfectly. The texture was very smooth and my only complaint is that it was too sweet, and perhaps a little pricey? Because next door they had the same thing for 2/3 of the price! And to be honest this dessert isn't too hard to make.
Red bean fleecy; This drink was good, not too sweet. Good if you like red beans.
Although the food here is pretty good, i can't help but think other places nearby can probably do as well on the drinks and dessert, people should stick to scrambled egg sandwiches here! Also, service is mega-bad so try to ignore them. Almost all the waiters are extremely rude.
