Looking for a place to eat in Sham Shui Po, we came across Pho Bo. It seemed to be the branch of the one from Jordan. As we loved that one a lot, we decided to go in here for a bite to eat.The restaurant here is a lot more bigger than the Jordan branch. We both ordered a tea set that included a drink, snack, salad and noodle for only $36!
Boyfriend ordered the cheese shrimp balls. There were three of them. They were pretty good though not a lot of cheese in them. But the shrimp meat was firm and fresh.
He also had the mini Vietnamese beef noodle. Mini is right and didn't have any items other than noodes. Just as described. The soup was ok. Not a rich as the one in Jordan. We both felt the soup there was far better.
I had the Pho Bo snack platter. This was a super deal. It had cold eggplant, a chicken wing and deep fried spring roll. The eggplant was topped with shrimp and scallop. Impressive! The salad was a bit of shredded cabbage on a chewy shrimp cracker. I think it was soaking in the sauce far too long so it was no longer crunchy. The butter chicken was a bit too oily. I felt the one in Jordan did a better job. I did like the egg plant. It was light and refreshing. The shrimp roll was nice and crunchy.
I also chose the mini Vietnamese cold vermicelli. This was a lot bigger than expected. The noodles were fresh and chewy. The toppings were also fresh. This was pretty good.
It was clearly not expensive and a good deal. Though some of the items we felt were better at the Jordan branch. Will probably return again when it's not tea service to see how it fares when it's full price. But other than that, not too bad.
