I was meeting my friend for dinner and he suggested to me that we should go to a cafe at Lai Chi Kok. He told me that this place only accepted reservations during dinner and they used quality ingredients for their dishes. The Hub / The Space was located at Castle Peak Road, around 4 minutes walk from Lai Chi Kok MTR and inside an old industrial building. Soup of the day - It was cream of mushroom with truffle soup. It was served with garlic bread. Garlic bread was crispy, with strong garlic taste. The texture of the soup was not overly thick, and was served hot and creamy. Truffle taste complimented nicely with the mushroom soup.
Smoked salmon salad - It was served in a small bowl and there were several ingredients in it, such as salmon, ham, cherry, corn and cucumber etc. It was fresh and crunchy, juicy as well.
Pan fried jumbo scallop with black vinegar - The size of the scallop was bigger than usual, and it was pan fried till very tasty. It was extremely chewy, like chewing on a gum. It goes well with the black vinegar sauce.
Grilled fresh chilled pork rack with apple sauce - The chef was very generous with the serving and pork rack was thick and huge. Given the thickness, the pork was still chewy and juicy, not overly cooked. It goes well with the apple sauce provided. Wedges were fried till soft and crispy as well.
Chocolate pie - The texture was hard and chocolate taste was thick and strong. The edges were crispy too.
Hazelnut chocolate - It was smooth and milky, with milk more than chocolate though.
