My dining experience at Sushi Sei was surprisingly bad and extremely disappointing. There is a limited selection on the menu. We ordered a grilled cod fish, a chicken sukiyaki and a yellow pickled tuna roll. The roll was ok. But the $198 a la cart cod fish was completely over cooked and didn't come with any condiments, and small in portion as expected. The chicken sukiyaki was even worse. My dining experience at Sushi Sei was surprisingly bad and extremely disappointing. There is a limited selection on the menu. We ordered a grilled cod fish, a chicken sukiyaki and a yellow pickled tuna roll. The roll was ok. But the $198 a la cart cod fish was completely over cooked and didn't come with any condiments, and small in portion as expected. The chicken sukiyaki was even worse. The clay pot consisted of 5 pieces of chicken, 3 leaves of stale cabbage, a tiny tofu cube covered in very salty dark soy broth. The whole dish should have costed only $30 but instead they charged for $160. They also charged for hot tea. We left the restaurant with a hungry stomach after paying $600 for food that could have costed much less. Sushi Sei didn't live up to the standard of other restaurants at IFC for that price point. My dining experience was extremely disappointing and I would never return again.
