Popsy Modern Kitchen is a restaurant that infuses art with dining, by placing art work around the restaurant that is pared with the dishes that are served. I came here as part of Diningcity's Restaurant Week due to........the salad option in the menu haha. The appetizers had three choices, the salad bar, cauliflower and bacon cream soup and couscous with squid and apples. When sat down, I immediately went to check out the salad bar which to my utter disappointment, did not have many choices and wasn't that exciting as it had the basic lettuce/corn/tomato with basis dressing and some dried ham and beef. As such, we decided to go with the other two choices as our starters. The couscous was fine, lightly seasoned, with squid and apple strips, and was unimpressive. The cauliflower soup was great, not too creamy with small bites of cauliflower and bacon hidden inside as well as some small croutons. In regards to the main dishes, we ordered the grilled scallops with pasta and lamb. The grilled scallops were a tad overcooked which was fine but the pasta was WAY too creamy, which surprised me considering how light the appetizers were. The lamb dish on the other hand was presented beautifully but was very oily and the lamb was well undercooked (surprised they never asked me how rare I wanted it cooked). We also ordered a margarita which was like any other margarita you could get in LKF...nothing out of the ordinary. Dessert was pretty plain as well, as we ordered a cheesecake and a pistachio mousse. All in all, I expected something better from this "fine dining" establishment but was left disappointed. The presentation of the food was done right but the food itself was below expectations as well as the decor of the restaurant.
