Ichitaki is a newly opened izakaya in Causeway Bay headed by two Japanese chefs. もつ鍋 Beef Offal Pot $258
Half of the beef offals were raw and half were cooked. The raw ones were more fatty and chewy and the cooked ones were not soft either. The soup base was clear with dashi and soy sauce. We added $30 for a bowl of rice and spring onions.

The chef at the other side of the counter table kept blabbering about how cheap the ingredients like the minced chicken they used for tsukune were... I guess this is not the information guests are supposed to know unless you don't want us to visit again.

Taobao tableware, standard Chinese izakaya decorations, absolutely not what I expected to see in a restaurant with Japanese chefs. The server was very polite and attentive which I appreciated. Overall this meal was such a bummer.
