My friend suggested to have hotpot at this place because they have a very special soup. The restaurant is decorated as if we are in the wet market, all the seafood was fresh and living in the fish tank; I saw people going there and choosing seafood. I quite like the idea because it's special and felt like we are at home. My friend ordered this special soup when he booked the table because apparently this soup get sold out pretty quick. My friend ordered this special soup when he booked the table because apparently this soup get sold out pretty quick. I guess everyone comes here for it because I could also see that almost everyone had this amazing chicken with dried fish maw soup. Because there were only two of us so we got the small one which was more than enough. I was shocked to see the amount of ingredients they put in the soup, there was half an chicken and lots of dried fish maw. We waited for awhile for the soup to settle the. The staff came and cut the chicken into smaller pieces for us. He also told us to enjoy the soup first, I was amazed with the flavour. The soup was just delicious!!!!!! It was very concentrated. The soup was sweet and full of chicken flavour. The texture of the chicken was smooth and tender. I was also shocked when I tried the fish maw, they were so yummy! They were very thick and very soft! They were so smooth and after a few bites, they just slide through my throat. To be honest, you don't need the extra sauce, the chicken and the fish maw was very tasty itself.
Signature beef rib was fantastic as well! When we saw the beef rib, we were sure that they were fresh because the colour was very red. They were nicely presented with ice at the bottom to keep them fresh. The beef rib were very thick and soft. The texture was tender and smooth. It was my first time to try something like this, the rib was so soft and easy to chew. It tasted so good with the soup.
Mashed shrimp with crab roe was very tasty. We use a spoon to scoop the mixture bit by bit into the soup. After a few minutes, I could see them flowing. The texture was smooth and soft, I could taste the crab roe almost in every bite, they were popping in my mouth.
The Chinese steam dumpling that they have here is very quite different, they don't use the normal pastry for the outer layer instead, they use the texture of the fish ball. Therefore the outer layer is quite thick. The filling is still the same which is mince pork with chives. It felt like eating fish ball with filling inside but the appearance looked like Chinese steam dumpling.
There are lots of other things that I want to try as well but we were too full so next time, I will bring more friends with me.
