The seating spaces are ergonomic and efficient in design and lit in warm ambient lighting. Shelf-trolleys parked next to each booth ready for the volley of orders. Staff are friendly and courteous.
For below HKD300/pax and hours, up to 4pax are entitled to 1 chicken pot and 1 other broth base. For 6 pax 1 chicken pot of larger portion and 2other broth entitlement.
The meal starts from a single chicken pot, while the chicken pot is heated up to a boil, perfumed with spices balanced by large onions and smothering bunch of coriander, customers are treated to sharks fin soup and cold dish appetiser plate of smooth chewy sea-cucumber, chunky slab of braised abalone.
After consuming the chicken pot, Selected broth bases are added to the chicken pot after the chicken are consumed. Pots are heated over a built in electrical stove controlled with an extended wired remote control.
They offer a once-serving-only fresh ocean shell-fish consisting of 1 each of the following. Small clams, small geoduck, plump oyster, giant grouper fillets and prawn, platter on ice.
The broth is decent .
Their comprehensive 1 page menus allows easy ordering.
The rolls of prime beef slices was of high quality, fresh, well marbled.
The one time shellfish were full of oceanic sweetness, reasonable sized and portioned.
The eat all you can section features, good quality meats section, beef and pork prime cuts and other parts like sausages, luncheon meat and tripe.
Seafood selection offers fresh slices of various parts of giant freshwater carp white eel and prawns etc.
The ever present meat balls, dumpling and fish cake variety did hold a pleasant surprise like the fragrant cheese bits scattered within a fried fish cake, unusually smooth texture and fine mouthfeel.
The dessert is a self served red bean soup, uncommonly generous in ingredients.
The experience is far better than the more common steamboat joints in terms of environment, quality and service.
