friends and i (7 of us) went to this indu/nepalese restaurant that nightit was freezing cold outside but very warm inside this cosy restaurant.Before we ordered anything, they gave us some sort of chips to taste. this crispy chips was a good start-off.Then we ordered modo xxx which is a kind of nepalese dumplings but the exterior just resembles the shanghai one "siu long bao".Inside was minced lamb, though without any juice that the shanghai one does, it is not dry at all. Here comes some nam, we ordered lots of butter nam and garlic nam, i tasted both, the garlic just makes the trick so i like this better. Nam are hot and thick enough, a must try item!
For main dishes, we had tandoori chicken , lamb curry and spinach and cheese.
My friends found lamb curry was too hot for them , so they were not into this dish. Frankly, the lamb was a bit tough . Tandoori chicken was awesome, we ended up ordering 2 portions. Even the onion beneath the chicken was soaked with the tandoori sauce , lovely!
Spinach and cheese was my favorite though, it looks awful and oily but tasty. it was not the ordinary spinach and cheese we had in the american restaurant which was baked, this just looked like another dish of curry with well ground spinach and cube sized cheese.
One of us ordered banana lassi which was a sort of youghurt mixing with banana. The little bit sourness of youghurt just gives a lovely touch with the sweetness of banana.
For dessert, we had pistachio ice-cream, i assumed it was sort of sorbet. It served with mango, strawberry sauce and cream. This sorbet was a lovely end of the whole meal.
Heres credit to my friend, food here is nice though the serving speed was kind of slow since there was only one cook there. If you have time, go and try.
