We were craving some authentic Vietnamese food and decided to come here for a quick fix. We’d never come here before but have heard many stories about this place. Legend has it that the owner used to be a Vietnamese navy cook and was on a routine warship run around the South China Sea in the early 90’s when a typhoon ran his ship aground near Victoria harbor. With his crew scattered he had no choice but to stay and open up shop in the region, and thus the humble beginnings of a now very successful franchise.
Anyway, we were famished so decided to order 2 rice dishes, the first one we got was the Com Xao Khom Tom (large shrimp pineapple rice) and second, the Com Thap Cam (Le Viet signature rice). Both came in generous portions.

The pineapple rice was especially impressive as it came in a full pineapple with 2 GINORMOUS shrimps on the top. Taste-wise it was delicious with fresh pineapples, sweet sultanas and gently roasted chicken diced throughout. The Signature rice was also a pleasant affair coming stacked with chicken wings, luncheon meat, pork chop and an egg. Not only was it all very well-prepared, it was also extremely filling
Definitely one to live up to its famed origins!
