As a coffee fanatic for years, it’s suffocatingly hard to live on a day without a cup of quality coffee. Fortunately, plenty of authentic European- / Australian- style coffee shops popped out in recent years and Barista Jam is definitely one of my favorite spots for a relaxing moment or to grab a nice cappuccino to go. Location
Located towards the far end of Jervois Street, near the Sheung Wan market, Barista Jam is popular than everyone expected. It is so charming that it seems out of place amidst all the Chinese groceries stores that populated in the area. That’s why it would be in your convenience to reserve a table if you prefer to seat for a while to enjoy your coffee.
The service was friendly and competent. I never had to queue for long because the staffs were very efficient and remembered everyone’s order! The well- trained baristas were friendly and they handed over the coffee in a careful and thoughtful way.
Food
Today, I came here alone for the creamy salmon spaghetti and a big cappuccino to fill my empty stomach during the crowded lunch hours. The only few tables were occupied and I had to sit at the bar before I got re-located to a better seat. However, I really loved the flavored syrups adorned at the bar, and I will try them all out in my coming visits.
Environment
You are almost forced to breathe the lovely coffee aroma when you step into the café. The interior of the shop was rustic and cozy, with a vintage throwback thingy going for it.
