This weekend we wanted something Japanese and we decided to try out Sakuragi, formerly known as Fratelli. We have longed to try this beautifully plated 9 Boxes bento set for two for a while as they looked so appealing in photos, and turned out they tasted delicious as well. The place was overall speaking quite huge and we were seated at a spacious booth. Waiters were very friendly and delivered efficient services.
Their signature Nine Boxes Bento for two contains nine different special dishes, all of which are exquisite and prepared nicely.
The nine dishes include sashimi crab feet, crab meat, abalone, sashimi scallop, octopus with wasabi, thick cut grilled tamago, fried shrimp, belt skirt & slow cooked hanger steak.
The set comes with a special kind of rice and a drink for each. We chose a rice with coddled egg and one with pollock roe, and both of them complemented well with the dishes. The drinks were no ordinary soft drinks but well made ones like our tea with red dates and winter melon punch.
I particularly enjoyed the hanger steak as well as the sashimi crab feet. They have extremely tender texture and matched so well with the rice. Generally speaking. all of the small dishes are well portioned and have good quality.
All in all, the dining experience here was very enjoyable and we would definitely return for another attempt. We are so satisfied with the fact that such a photo-worthy set turned out to be something of such high quality and it's so rarely found.
