Believe it or not it was my first time to come to 杏花邨 and it was because I had a lunch date here! It was around 2:45pm on Sat and there were afternoon tea sets which were cheaper than lunch sets. There were a lot of choices on their tea set menu which were so cheap. I saw quite a number of others having ordered their burger set which looked so big and appealing.That said, I wanted to try their 日式原條鳗魚飯 which was on their lunch set and ordered another mains of 鐵板和風豚肉飯 as well as a dessert of 朱古力流心
That said, I wanted to try their 日式原條鳗魚飯 which was on their lunch set and ordered another mains of 鐵板和風豚肉飯 as well as a dessert of 朱古力流心冬甩配雪糕 from their tea set menu for our late lunch.

鐵板和風豚肉飯 at $53+10%
They were so efficient that it took them less than 5 min to serve us our first mains. It was served on a hot teppan with the outer surface surrounded by a piece of paper for safety concern. It was so big that it was definitely not of a tea set portion! There were four long slices of pork which were so rich in pork flavour and crispy with sufficient fat inside. It was worth mentioning that there were my favourite pork soft bones in these pork slices yet still easily chewable! The sauce was served on the side and it was slightly sour which was so appetising. There were plentiful rice which seemed to be 珍珠米 and went great with the sauce. The hot teppan kept all the food hot, which was a very good idea.

日式原條鳗魚飯 at $78+10%
The other mains we ordered was 日式原條鳗魚飯 which was quite a good value for money because it was a really whole long slice of eel which tasted great with sufficient sauce. The rice also seemed to be 珍珠米 and went great with the eel sauce which I wish there could be more. There was some salad dressed with Japanese style sesame sauce which tasted pretty good.

A daily soup came with the lunch set which was onion soup. It was clear with some soft onion slices.
朱古力流心冬甩配雪糕 at $48+10%
The doughnut was warm and soft and it was actually a bun with loads of chocolate sauce inside and outside. There was a small bowl of vanilla ice cream served on the side.

西柚梳打 (included in lunch/afternoon tea set)
A 是日特飲 came with all sets and it was 西柚梳打 for the day. It was a bit sour and definitely not sweet. Portion was giant that we felt so full after finishing one each so we skipped the drink for the third set.
Service was so efficient that we finished everything in 30 min. Seating was comfortable and interior decoration was very nice with high ceilings and a pretty 旋轉木馬 near the entrance area. Most importantly, food was pretty nice at a very reasonable cost.
