Last night, I had the pleasure of visiting a cozy and inviting izakaya in Hong Kong. As soon as I stepped through the door, I was transported back to the early 2000s, with the familiar sounds of classic Cantopop hits filling the air. It was clear that this izakaya was a favorite among Hong Kong’s millennials, who were no doubt drawn to the comforting ambiance and the opportunity to indulge in a taste of their youth.
But the real highlight of the evening was the exceptional food. We ordered a total of 10 items, along with two drinks, all for the incredibly reasonable price of just 800 HKD. Among the standout dishes were the succulent lamb chops, the flavorful chicken skewers, and the mouthwatering grilled beef tongue. The skewers, in particular, were highly recommended and did not disappoint, with each bite bursting with savory goodness.
The grilled cod fish was also a revelation, though it was best enjoyed with a side of rice ✨
