The Pawn is a restaurant I constantly keep tabs on since its opening a decade ago. It's a place I have a lot of admiration for due to its historical background (former pawn house) and having the contemporary cuisine by Tom Aikens on top of that is just the icing on the cake. But things have been noticeably trending in the wrong direction during my recent visits and I was hoping to see some improvement at lunch today.Last time when I was here, the kitchen was really young and that got me worried.

Came for Sunday brunch and was disappointed. The starter plates where good, especially the crab mouse, however the main courses for both of us where very disappointing. The full English was bland and dry. The sausage was tasteless, the fried egg overcooked, the yoke being almost hard, bacon was way to crispy for my taste, the mushroom with a puddle of oil on it and with the toast being fired as well it was all bit too much. 今天又到星期五，當然要食個long and fine lunch 去迎接周末啦！人在中環，決定去遠一點，灣仔。灣仔地標很多，但對於喜歡懷舊的人，有一個肯定不會忘記：和昌大押。當你睇過以前舊灣仔，20至60年代的相片，那一排廣東式騎樓，不能令人不愛上。我就是愛那種中西文化交匯的老風情。現在灣仔，碩果僅存的騎樓，和昌大押是其中表表者。講黎野食。不叫套餐，散叫 a la cart。點左麵包，跟一種甜甜的菜上，深啡色的，搽一點牛油，味道不過爾爾。另叫一個西冷牛扒，700元，食落肉質有點”un” ，但牛味都豐富，加上量很充足，不錯。還有一個甘荀湯，奶奶地，賣相是西洋味，飲落在這冷天氣，特別好飲。可以講，食物不是非常精彩，但歷史風情加上優雅環境，令食物都大大加分。推。

This is a fun casual place to grab a drink and a light snack. The restaurant has a fun vibe and it was clear the crowd were all expats. In fact, I didn’t see one local in there. Drinks were tasty but on the pricier side, as expected at a joint for expats. We ordered snacks and it took forever to arrive and had to chase down the waitress whom told us waiting such a long time is normal.

My last review on The Pawn was quite a positive one as I thought it's one of those second tier (but among the top) fine dinning restaurants with premium quality. However, my visit today suggested that the restaurant happen to be quite inconsistent among my two visits and that indeed is a terrible thing if the restaurant is looking to step into the 1st tier bracket. Most people would understand that The Pawn offers relatively casual food in a relaxing envirobment, I personally would agree but I think it's a little more than that. This restaurant is nice to chat with friends.We ordered a huge bucket of mussels to share. The sauce is really good... mussels are very fresh!!The beef ribs are tender with a sauce that has a little red wine taste. The sauce balance the taste and the portion is good enough for 2 people sharing. recommend!!!

厭倦了公司附近的店，和二位飯腳決定搞搞新意思，每週尋找米芝蓮美食推介，為生活加點期待，加點新意，係咪幾好呢。今次唔去中環，坐叮叮去了灣仔電車路，進駐在活化古蹟內的英國菜餐廳 The Pawn , 很久前和朋友晚上來飲過嘢，午餐就第一次。今天天氣不太熱，侍應安排我們到陽台用餐，氣氛蠻不錯Lunch Set 餐牌 女子們怕肥，我們仨一致地點了 魚 main course 。麵包烘得剛剛好，外脆內軟，有咬口，有溫度，牛油抹上去不消一刻就溶化在其中。常覚得，著重細節，連麵包都造到一絲不苟的餐廳，大多都是很有水準，很有譜的，應該冇死。Starters 選了凍湯 chilled fennel soup ( 凍茴香湯）。湯看上去白色好像很creamy , 錯了，第一口喝上，凍湯略帶微酸，口感清爽，啱哂悶熱的環境。等了一少段時間，main course出埸了。每一塊魚塊的魚皮煎得脆脆，配上龍蝦汁、鮮磨菇粒、帶有酸甜咸而伴有焦香的菜一起吃，出奇地合襯。只是魚肉較感“鞋”了一點。最後是甜品 不太喜歡吃朱古力，點了frozen yoghurt 。士多啤梨味、酸甜度調和得恰到好處 互不搶了互相的風頭 。飯腳說

今次終於的起心肝，放工約埋朋友三五知己黎the pawn撐枱腳。我們一行四人叫了很多不同的菜式頭盤刺身，蘑菇湯，烤豬肉，牛扒，fish pie，洋蔥圈。。。每樣食物整體上都不錯，當中最令我回味一定係個甜品tiramisu ～有驚喜！大家都食得很滿足！

一天假期都沒有的3月，實在有點難耐，所以每逢週末都去找美味Brunch慰勞自己，也不算過份吧！今天又給大家介紹灣仔 The Pawn 二樓 Kitchen 的 Free-flow brunch ($498起)，頭盤、主菜很有水準，甜品任吃，加上Kid's play area及免費兒童餐，非常推介給家庭客！ Weekend brunch 在星期六日都有供應，我們當然選擇上完跆拳道的星期六出發。來程上，一邊給首訪兩兄妹介紹和昌大押的歷史角色，天真無邪的兩隻竟聯想到「賣豬仔」，哈！如是真，兩隻肥肥豬應該價錢很不錯呢～  一如之前介紹，一樓 Bar 還可由莊士敦道的樓梯上行，但 Kitchen 就要由大王東街的升降機上去了。雖然兩兄妹都對古舊的建築不以為然，但一進到大廈內，馬上顯得很興奮；其中這集奇情、香艷、驚嚇於一身的藝術裝置，絕對是每次必拍必看！ 雖然多次到訪，這天還是老貓燒鬚錯誤抵達一樓 Bar；在打不開的電話亭，以及環境優美的酒吧拍一張照片後，又折回升降機再去二樓～ 下圖才是二樓 Kitchen 的環境，帶有絲絲英國氣質、佈置優美怡人，卻沒有過於高貴的拘束感，實在是週末輕鬆用餐的
