I read all the comments about Spoon-the restaurant at Inter-Continental Hotel today. It reminds me the services of the restaurant. Here is the story: when I phone to revserve the table for two in the afternoon, I told the receiptionist that we will arrive at 8pm, she said: 8pm will be fine, but can you come earlier? I wonder: there is no table available at 8pm? she said: no, there is table available at 8pm, but I suggest to come around 6:30pm. What?! Do you ever got such "nice and consider" rec

When I made the revervation of the second time at Spoon, I spoke in English, this time, the services was much much better.

According to my experiences, the so call "top" resstutants in HK, they have one problem in common, maybe they don't kwon--much nicer to the non-Cantoneses speaking customers (whichever langagues you speak, not Cantonese).

Hopefully, the "top" restruants managers will review "Openrice" and to improve their services.

I had dinner here Dec. 15, 04. I was very anxious to try this restaurant, but I end up a little disappointed. First of all the ambience wasn't romantic at all (maybe it has to do with my date?) Service was not bad, but since it's a 5-star hotel, I expect it to be excellent. I didn't order the set menu, but I tried their signature dish: steam foie gras. Maybe because I'm too stubborn to believe it should be pan-fried, it didn't convince me that foie gras can taste as good steamed. Main cours

I can't even remember the dessert so it's gotta be unimpressive. Overall I think this restaurant is all about fame type of place, not worth trying again....

三種湯- 蕃茄凍湯, 馬鈴薯湯同蝦湯, 用三個細細o既長身杯上, 當中以馬鈴薯湯最惹味, 蝦湯辣辣o地幾特別, 但係蕃茄湯怪怪o地~
唔記得咩香草shell pasta - 香草o既味道幾特別, 但配埋一齊就無咩驚喜~
牛柳- 都唔記得係咩牛同點整, hahah! 不過幾夠肉味, 唔錯~
芒果雪芭配什果同千層酥條- 芒果雪芭好好味, 什果酸o左d, 千層酥條太甜(對我o黎講)~

朋友點o個兩樣都係chef recommendation:
cream of pumpkin - 真係唔錯! 香濃又滑, 一d都唔漏~
澳洲和牛配芝士焗長通粉- 和牛幾好咬口, 肉味都算濃~ 通粉我無食~


Cappuccino - d泡係打得好高好挺, 但唔夠滑~ 不過咖啡好香濃, 唔錯~

同依位朋友一路坐一路傾計, 話咁快就三個半鐘, 真係好開心~ 埋單$1974 (咁似年份o既? hahah!), 之後行海旁繼續傾~ 正~~~

One of the best rest. in HK.Our party tried the sunset menu ($450, 3 courses + champaign, order before 7pm), Sexy Spoon (7 courses) and a la carte.Sunset menu: value for money, taste good, excellent presentationA la carte: Boiled egg ($145), Steak ($360) and Mini-Napoleon cake ($100)Sexy Spoon: Not very sexy. It looks like a combination of the Sunset Menu and a la carte. Bottled water: $90/bottle.

The decoration of restaurant has the theme of contemporary. When my friends and I walked inside the restaurant, the waiter had already greeted us with a welcome smell. Once we sat down, we were intrigued by the Victoria Harbour view. We ate there on Tuesday night, and the restaurant was not fully occupied. However, I could imagine that place would be crowdy in the weekend because the tables are really closed to each other. When we order the food and wine, all waiters are attentive and helpful. T

They would patiently explain the differences among each wine from other countries. I ordered the Australian Wagyu Beef, and my friend ordered Rossini Beef with steamed goose liver. The beef tasted excellent and the texture was tender. I ordered "Shop" Salad with Spicy Shrimp for the appetizer. I can't explain how good the shrimp tasted like. I think everyone should try this shop.

I finally tried with some friends on X'mas Eve. They are serving this"Sexy" X'mas menu with 6 courses and a glass of Alain Ducasse champagne(which was very very nice). Meanwhile during the meal they'd come and suggest to you different wines to go with the dishes... finally the bill came out to be $2000 per person. My flesh felt very "painful" when I saw the bill...<br />Actually the best part was the bread. I ate too much bread and by the time dessert came I could hardly breathe. An

Actually the best part was the bread. I ate too much bread and by the time dessert came I could hardly breathe. Another thing is that I woke up the next with a very very dry mouth. I don't think it was the wine... so maybe a lot of msg was used...

here only open at night, latest booking after 2 NovMan require Smart Casualget the menu looked, not much choice, price expensive, $2XX ~ $3XXmenu like different limited set fusion dish,can reference to webpage (w/ some picture) of other SPOON worldwidepersonally, think it's nearly just for the fame if anyone want to experience (maybe try later la)PS: the Chinese gal receptionist is quite beautiful
