this is the first time i have ever written a food critique for anyone anywhere and anytime. i have decided to do so because i am sick and tired of alot of online reviews that are written by faux connoisseurs. if you are reading this, i believe you will find the difference (as cooking is one of my passions) and hopefully give the reader some insights to the understanding of food.
i decided to write a review on main street deli simply because i think it is of one the most understated restaurants in hong kong. i understand there might have been alot reviews on main street but it is still well worth to time. i came across main street years ago when they first opened. the decor and atmosphere have been maintained. it is the closest you can get in an upscale diner anywhere in the states.
the menu might have changed over the years; my favorite dishes remain the same. Quesadillas, hamburger, bbq ribs, sandwiches, i believe are made with the finest ingredients. to some, the menu might be a bit on the pricey side; truth be told, it simply reflect the costs of food sold.
as part of the hotel, i don't think one should cast any doubt on the level of service standard. there are only a few reasons that anyone should complain; i assure you it must have been a very special one to make any one beserk.
at the end of the day, main street deli IS boring; but then, main street is not here to innovate but to celebrate the good old american tradition.
