If you want to try some excellent, 5-star quality and hardcore American food, go to Dan Ryan's (at least this branch in Pacific Place, Admiralty).I have been here since I was a young child and even after a decade, I still admire their high quality. The environment is charming and very American - even the toilets are interesting. The place is above averagely clean. It is the decorations and furniture that make it wonderful (and the running train above the bar?)All their food is wonderful. Besid
I have been here since I was a young child and even after a decade, I still admire their high quality.

All their food is wonderful. Besides their soup, which is very good (but not excellent), their bread and muffins, appetizers, main courses (seafood is only excellent [5* out of 5], not as outstanding [6* out of 5] as their steaks), and amazing desserts (which used to be even better), I can hardly find enough words to praise them. Also, this Dan Ryan's has the best Caesar salads, in case anyone was wondering. If you are health conscious, ask them to reduce the amount of dressing. Stunningly, the salad remains very tasty because they truly toss the salad well. The steaks are magnificently cooked, and are truly of Grade A+ quality US beef.
Service is also great. Although during busy lunch hours, the waiters tend to be a little too hectic, they are always pleasant and well-mannered (except one time.... in the >100 times I've been here). They are also very willing to take back any food you are not satisfied with. They can deal with uncomfortable/unpleasant situations rather well (their skills were tested once during one of my visits).
Children will also be pleased to know that they can draw or write whatever they want all over the "table cloths" - i.e. not the cloth itself, but on the waxed paper on the surface. They also provide free key-chains and balloons. Their birthday arrangement service is fantastic.
There's only one major drawback to this place - their prices. Perhaps they want to "price out" the middle-class locals, so only expats and 'high-class' / Westernized locals will visit. However, you don't get the best food for rock bottom prices - ['yut fun cheen yut fun for'] ('You get what you pay for')
This is THE BEST AMERICAN RESTAURANT in Hong Kong - by far !!!
Overall: 9 out of 10.
