早兩個星期已經打電話到Bricklane訂了位,跟他來這裡吃平安夜晚餐,23號那天店家還致電confirm,怎料到了bricklane,女店員說沒有我們的booking,問我們是否訂了轉彎的Brick Lane Gallery,於是我們走了過來,但這裡的店員也說沒有我們的booking,不過幸好還有位子,就安排了我們坐在戶外。其實這裡的環境比本店更寛敞更舒適,所以我們都沒有異議和不滿。由於今天是平安夜,所以有christmas set,但由於我下班前在公司吃了聖誕大餐,已經很飽了,所以決定單點這裡的signature,就是egg benedict with parma ham了。另外還有smoked salmon angel hair with tomato sauce 茄汁煙三文魚天使麵,價錢貴了不少,前者$148,後者$158,我們還點了紅酒和白酒各一杯。egg benedict真的很不錯,蛋汁上的芝士味很濃郁,和巴拿馬火腿的咸香配合得很好,而夾上菠菜也為整道菜添加了新鮮感,很滿意。至於天使麵,只有數塊煙三文魚,還有很秀珍菇,我認為蕃茄味不夠濃郁,有點淡,酸又算不上,甜也算不上,總

egg benedict真的很不錯,蛋汁上的芝士味很濃郁,和巴拿馬火腿的咸香配合得很好,而夾上菠菜也為整道菜添加了新鮮感,很滿意。

至於天使麵,只有數塊煙三文魚,還有很秀珍菇,我認為蕃茄味不夠濃郁,有點淡,酸又算不上,甜也算不上,總之吃完後不會讓人記得就是了,不過男朋友就說不錯,但我建議可以不吃這個。

這個笑臉是給egg benedict的,但這個價錢其實也可以在其他地方吃到美味的egg benedict,或許某天我們會再回來,但應該不會那麼快吧,祝各位聖誕快樂!

其實一早知道有呢間餐廳,因為我同花老嘢經常係棉登徑出沒,不過原店太開揚同細,所以一直冇去試。前排睇電視先知佢係棉登徑見城對面開咗,地方大咗 ,今晚又唔知食哞好嘅情況下就決定一碔。睇食評,d人話Egg Bennedict同 fish and chip好,咁同老嘢就一人叫一份試。嘢飲我要咗一款Italian sparkling wine,老嘢要merlot。嘢飲唻先,sparkling夠凍,幾fruit,ok嘅。merlot老嘢由初初嘅ok去到後期嘅"真係幾ok",可想而知應該係飲得過嘅。主菜係老嘢嘅Egg Bennedict with Parma ham唻先,佢話"麻麻啫,brunch(Marriott)果個蟹肉egg Bennedict 好食d。"我冇食,no comment。不過賣相麻麻。之後我個fish and chip唻喇,好巨型,2個女仔先食得晒。魚肉好厚,炸得唔油,幾好。不過太大喇,食食下有d滯。薯條係扁闊型,初初食好好味,食食下就覺得好滯。總括唻講,嘢飲係ok嘅,係食物方面比我想像中差少少囉。

First impression of the restaurant's environment was its simple and warm feeling. The restaurant felt comfortable and with its minimalistic design full of dark wood and grey painted ceiling. The outdoor patio was quite relaxing as well, as we waited for our tables, we had a sip of beer while waiting for our table.

Although nothing particularly stands out here, the tables are spaced out quite well and there were some lounge seats which were not ideal for a meal. The seats seemed too low from what I can see.

I realise I am quite harsh on these, but for something to reach a 5 it has to be absolutely perfect. A 5 means la crème de la crème of its type and category; my point of view is that there is no such thing as perfect in texture, taste, presentation, smell etc and a 5 is virtually impossible.
0-1: Horrific, inedible
1-2: Will not order it again, and it's below average
2-3: Average joe food. Many places can replicate or make this.
3-4: Quite good and tasty. The higher end of 3 represents that the dish is identifiable to the restaurant and has its own distinctive taste and I will consider ordering again.
4-4.9: Very very tasty and the flavours of the dish is unique to the restaurant. In particular in the mid to higher ends to the 4, the food is almost proprietor-level good.
5: Pure bliss and so perfect that it's inexpressible.

This salad contains Smoked salmon, shrimp, strawberries sauce and balsamic vinegar. Although the picture quality is not very good, one can see how unspectacular the salad is.
The lettuce and leaves were not particularly fresh, the smoked salmon tasted like something you can buy easily from the supermarket, the shrimp was ordinary and the balsamic vinegar was not aged and it was too sour.

This salad was very average, and anyone could make this at home. It wasn't inedible, but it simply wasn't worth ordering.

Fish and chips (3/5)

If one dish were to be recognised as British food, most non-Brits would mention fish and chips. We decided to get the fish and chips and see how the fared.

The fish was not cod, and the texture was too slippery. The best fish I ever had in the UK (the ones wrapped in newspaper) were the ones where every bite commanded chunks of fish. After every bite, you should be able to see the steaming hot chunks of fish that were disconnected. This one did not have any of those characteristics, but it certainly wasn't bad either. The texture was soft and slippery, but it didn't grab anyone's attention because it lacked the meatiness of good fish.

The batter was decent, but it isn't as crunchy as you would want them to be. The ratio of fish and batter was definitely well managed, without one overpowering another.

Overall, it was okay and it can be tasted elsewhere.

This was a special dinner set that was on the menu.

To clear it out of the way, the onion soup was terrible. It was simply water, broth and onion mixed together in a sloppy manner. I could even taste the tap water in the soup itself, simply inexcusable.

The side salad was also meagerly average. It was a bunch of semi-fresh lettuce with minimal to no sauce. I had to ask the waiter for more salad dressing, and they had no clue what dressing it was. I had to let them know that the salad used balsamic vinegar!

On the other hand, when my Roasted pig came out, it changed my attitude completely. The pig had just the right crisp to the skin, and enough meat, fat and bone on each cut out piece. There wasn't much fat stuck to each piece of skin, and the selection of the meat was a good part of the pig, but I wished there was slightly more meat. The roasted flavour was infused in to the meat and skin and had a good salty falvour on each piece. Each piece really had me cleaning everything to its bare bones because it was so...'suckling'ly good.

What really enhanced the dish was its specialty sauce which had a hint of sweetness. It was a thick sauce similar to that of sauce you would get when you go to a buffet for roast beef, except slightly sweeter. It simply complemented the roast pig perfectly.

Moreover, it came with a fried rice that is infused with Caribbean flavours and raisins. It was also very tasty as it was infused with flavours of oil, a hint of Caribbean herbs and the sweetness from raisins. This again worked well with the specialty sauce.

The cupcake was aesthetically pleasing , but the taste did not match how it looks.
The cake was layered with cream in the middle and that's where it destroyed the flavours. There seemed to be more cream than the red velvet itself. Since red velvet is such a delicate 'flavour' , it is difficult to elicit the texture and soft and delicate sweetness on the palates. By filling the cake full of cream, it over powered the red velvet cake itself.
Luckily, the cream tasted okay otherwise the whole cake would be left untouched.

The service was overall amicable, but they gave away our reservation table so that we had to wait an extra 45 minutes before we could sit down. As a compensation, the manager gave us one free complementary drink each UP until we sat down. There was a friend who came very late due to work and wasn't able to get a free drink because we literally just got a table and sat down. I was quite frustrated.

On a second note, the waiters forgot some of the things we ordered even though we reminded them on more than one occasion. The waiters also didn't seem very knowledgeable about their own food as they couldn't answer my question on how the food was prepared.

Overall, I wasn't very impressed with the waiters.

Rating: 5.5/10

**********************Conclusion******************************
I wouldn't come here again as nothing really impressed me from giving out our reserved table to the quality of the food as a whole. Although I quite liked the atmosphere of the restaurant, it doesn't warrant me to come back again as there are simply too many good restaurants in Hong Kong.

Being a Londener, going to Brick Lane means curry. We had this curry right away, the look is right, and the taste I could say is above average. It would be better to have some more spices. But this already fulfill my Brick Lane curry sick.


Cheese on Fries, Fries are crips and Cheese are cheesssssssy! Best goes with any Draught Beer


Finally rich cold chocolate with a very artistic look.


Overall, I would like to recommend this cosy, ambience, delicious place. It is very difficult to find places that would do their food with the right attitude and a spacious environment with an artistic touch.

I was looking for a nice brunch. I came and got a seat given to me. No water was given,and nobody took my order. I was on the front of the bar so I was very visible. When the full breakfast arrived it was not very hot at all. So is sled for mustard which wasn't answered immediately. By the time I started eating everything was cold. The coffee was okay but I think this is a matter of taste. To cut a long story short I complained and the manger just complained back to me "I cannot get the staff"

下雨天,約左朋友短聚,相約在九龍,聽說棉登徑開了一間英倫風格的餐廳。一進門口,發覺裝修很特別,有一點藝術氣氛,又有一點熱閙蘇豪的感覺。點了我最愛的 egg Benedict, 看著那流心蛋被我切開,很痛快!配以帶點微酸的荷蘭汁,真是無懈可擊。加上熱心的 bartender 給我特制的 西瓜 mojito, 用新鮮西瓜調配,炎炎夏日,透心涼!就這樣過了一個愉快的晚上

知道有呢間新餐廳,和朋友去試下。一早訂座,心想早訂座通常餐廳都會安排好點的座位,怎知去到被安排在一個serving cabinet 側的二人位。呢度裝修都幾英倫,幾cosy, 可惜他的用枱好細張,反而令人覺得空間多,但坐位細。坐得吳舒服。食物方面,我們點了它那3樣招牌食品,egg Benedict, fish and chips 同 red velvet cake.Egg benedict 都做到流心的,但是稍欠蛋香。而且個muffin 亦沒有質感。整體來說是ok, 不是會encore 的quality.Fish and chip 也是ok 的。不過只會好簡中食下ok, 不可時常食。個red velvet 就極之得個樣,收得$65 一件cake, 點到有點期望。點知,d cream 又硬,明顯吳新鮮,又冇味。d蛋糕得個紅色,乜味都冇,d紅色好可能係人造食素。試完想起其他四十多蚊的cake, 不知好味幾多!呢度d service 都幾差,吳叫吳比水, 水又吳 refill! Egg benedict 都做到流心的,但是稍欠蛋香。而且個muffin 亦沒有質感。整體來說是ok, 不是會encore 的quality.

Fish and chip 也是ok 的。不過只會好簡中食下ok, 不可時常食。

個red velvet 就極之得個樣,收得$65 一件cake, 點到有點期望。點知,d cream 又硬,明顯吳新鮮,又冇味。d蛋糕得個紅色,乜味都冇,d紅色好可能係人造食素。試完想起其他四十多蚊的cake, 不知好味幾多!

呢度d service 都幾差,吳叫吳比水, 水又吳 refill! Really won't come back again!

下午茶點了Egg Benedict 跟咖啡,第一啖入口覺得荷蘭汁有冰冷感,似乎是剛從雪櫃取出淋在疍上,感覺欠佳。疍是細size的,卽使有疍漿流出,都是少量。火腿又只是薄簿的細細塊!蛋下面的烚菠菜無味無口感,在別處吃過用牛油菓的好得多。菠菜下面的muffin麭是一敗筆,部份沾濕了菠菜水的麭發了水!整體來說,一般過一般甚至一般以下。論環境,背景音樂夾雜水吧攪拌機、各種機器、水喉、餐具杯碟碰撞的聲音,整個下午茶都籠罩在噪音之下,優閒感覺欠奉。直情有置身茶記的感覺!有招式無內功的好例子!

一直想試試 Egg Benedict, 當天中午打來訂枱, 已滿, 所以我們六時半左右已到達, 更在沒有訂枱下不用等位, 選了salad 跟Egg Benedict 二人分享, salad很美, salad 菜新鮮, 蝦的味道實在是意想不到的好, 彈牙, 入味, 很新鮮Egg Benedict , Hollandaise sauce多一點濃一點更好smoke salmon 跟菠菜不太突出, 反而很喜歡English muffin,

由於一早book左位 所以節省了等位時間店內員工禮貌不錯,我點了burger 同埋fish and chipsBurger 味道很好,牛肉十分入味,值得推介相反,fish and chips味道麻麻,但整體上也算很好,而且百幾蚊嘅價錢食到咁嘅水準,物有所值!
