已經俾過好幾次機會佢,如果唔係喺我公司樓下,真係唔想貼錢買難受!幫襯過幾次,試過堂食,試過外賣,啲侍應衰到爆~個個好似唔想做咁!今日幫襯更加衰!話說我去買個brioche bun 外賣,我同Bakery嗰個鬼佬講淨係heat it up唔要Butter,佢就發晒癲咁啤住我!到個 bun ready嘅時候,就徒手將個bun 入紙袋,然後掟俾我!咩事?咁嘅態度?呢間嘢唔係第一次!上次我幫襯嘅時候,已經見到個女仔唔用手套,徒手將啲包調來調去🙈啲嘢幾好食都係假!貼錢買難受。

I’ve never posted anything negative about a restaurant or a shop. I usually tell myself everyone will have a bad day once in a while. But this is one exception I will make because I think people ought to think less about themselves and more for others.

I had 2 hrs to kill this morning and decided to try Baked.

I ordered the baked eggs on brioche. Less than halfway through, I bit into something hard. I spit it out and it looked like a dirty fingernail. I was horrified, but I didn’t want to overreact so I called to the waiter and told him, “There’s a fingernail in the dish.”

He goes: “A fingernail???”
I handed him the plate and he left with it. I sat there all disgusted and thought. Shit I’m still hungry, shall I get the hummus? So I sat there waiting for someone to come over.

3 minutes later, @bakedfounder whom I’ve met came over but doesn’t recognizes me because I’m in my dorky glasses and morning hair, came over and said: “it is not a fingernail. Just some old plastic.” And pauses. I was really about to say hi but wait. Is this my turn to say something to make him feel better? Is a dirty plastic better than a dirty fingernail? I can’t decide.
So I go: “So?” Waiting for a turn of events here.
He then continues: “But it tastes good right?”
Seriously?!?!?
I almost ingested what I thought was a gross fingernail and all he cared about was if it tasted good? That I should overlook this because of the taste?

I was shocked at this response so I said, “but that’s not the point right? There is something in the food that’s not supposed to be there.”
Still no apologies.
Then he took off without a word.
Talk about ego. Talk about customer care.
Is it my fault that I found plastic in YOUR food and am I supposed to feel better that it’s not someone’s fingernail? I am appalled.

So I asked for my check and this really nice girl came to apologize (finally!!!) and said they will waive the check.

Not a great morning at all but I think that all of us should react less dramatic to things that don’t go our way. It is actually ok to just say sorry and make the other person feel valued and cared for.

Save 了這間餐廳一段日子,知道這間餐廳是因為中環總店的食評,所以一直很期待,縰然知道它的價錢略高。今天和兩位朋友一起去午餐,先講職員的態度,整體平均,有職員倒瀉水,但很快幫我們換過。我們柯打了pita bread, 因為被openrice 的相片吸引了。味道很印度,蛋白煎得有點像豆腐皮,配了醬料,有點像臭豆腐的味道。朋友同樣柯打了pita bread with chicken,味道不錯。咖啡也很正常。不過由於過份期待,所以有點失望,或許sourdough 才是他們的皇牌吧。

下午去食,唔洗等位。服務:侍應有禮貌。食物:係香港未食過咁難食既肉醬,得小小香料味,咸味係極少。好聽D叫食返食材原本既味道,事實係佢地冇調味。簡單D講,個包就好食,酸度夠。但係個肉醬就微酸,小量香料味。兩樣酸既野加埋點會好食,個包再好食都冇用啦。另一個牛油果雞包,牛油果新鮮,雞有調味,不過食落去好粉。好似食緊M記個X香雞包塊雞咁。食到最後,埋單,連埋兩杯野飲 500$左右。侍應問我地好唔好食,我地直接講話個肉醬如果多DD鹽調味就會好食好多。點知個大廚(老細)直接行出黎叫我地fuxk off.話我地冇資格評論佢既食物,仲問侯埋我地全家唔做香港人生意咪直接講,唔接受客人意見就唔好問客人有咩感受啦。想受氣既可以黎。

I went on a weekday around 10 and there were a lot of vacant seats so I settled in for a late breakfast. It is shocking that I have never been to Baked before, even when it was in Soho and only visited Acme this year, thankfully before it closed for renovations. Their dishes are quite unique and all represent a significant memory for Zahir, the founder, in his childhood in South Africa. Being a sourdough connoisseur it was only a matter of time before I came. I will say that their prices are a lot higher than your usual bakery/cafe but their portions and creativity definitely make up for it.

Yogivasna $135


I have been dreaming about Acme’s pita bread for months after trying it the first time. It’s tender, pillow-like dough that still has an amazing chew and firm bite to it, as well as the distinct tang from the sourdough. I’m so glad they sell it at $18 instead of $60 now, I’m definitely going to have to get some dips and pita next time.


Today, we settled for this. A very unique dish that is like an enhanced and jacked-up hummus and pita. Of course, their pita is toasted to order and humongous. Soft and tender with a bite and even a slight crust on the edges and bottom. The only flaw I can find is that the centre of the pita gets extremely soggy and soft due to the sauce and liquids on top. This is a two-sided coin. On one hand, the pita soaks up all that delicious hummus and salsa, but on the other, it sort of becomes a mushy pile of wet dough.


The hummus has harissa blended in for a spicy and spiced-up version of their velvety dip. This new hummus is much less one-dimensional now and reminds me of muhammara, but less sweet. They spread it generously over the pita so each bite gets a thick layer.


On top of this is a surprisingly good black bean salsa. Each bean is creamy and tender but not mushy and has the most amazing flavour as if it has been soaked in an acidic bath. Each bean offers the perfect tang and sourness to cut through the hummus and eggs. The creaminess of it also offsets the hummus’ creaminess and offers another layer of texture. he salsa also had tomatoes and red onion which makes each bite so refreshing and bright. There is also some raw spinach on top of the hummus which adds a pop of colour and bitterness to each bite.


The star of this dish though has to be the egg whites. Fried in oil before being mixed in with the sauce so there are nice big chunks of savoury egg whites. Each piece is perfectly well seasoned and the texture is also flawless, not spongy or crispy or soft, but tender and firm. Like everything else, they give a generous portion of eggs which will definitely fill you up.

💬 Overall, this was a very satisfying meal and I cannot wait to be back and try their sourdough. The service here is also quite friendly but it is quite obvious they are not well trained but they definitely have the potential.

入口有種creamy既口感~
另外peri peri sauce就比較岩食得辣既朋友
真心幾辣下 但食到就會覺得好食
呢一份既水波蛋略嫌overcook左同可能落太多醋?
佢變左烚蛋咁 蛋白比較實 蛋黃亦無流心

飲品方面 叫左iced black同iced mocha
因為佢地咖啡偏深焙

I’m a big fan of baked since their soho shop, so I was thrilled to come try on their soft opening day, the new shop is so close to my office, right across admiralty PP3!

These two are new from the menu
However, my fd just realised the curried mince was made up of beef, she doesn’t eat beef😂 so we ordered one more

HEART U
Aged mature cheddar & Scamorza Toastie

And banana on banana

I love “french kiss”, the brioche was so soft and buttery, but the portion was a bit small for its price ..
the curried mince was not bad, it was flavourful and the sourdough was so good as usual, but it was slightly too heavy for my liking, I couldn’t finish all the meat.

Heart U was from the old menu, which I have always wanted to try, it was pretty good.

Overall, I think everything was great as the old shop, but I think OH MY GOD is still the best among everything I tried from them.

When I arrived, there were no servers at reception to greet. Had to wait for a few minutes before the server told me to wait outside the restaurant. The server wasn’t too helpful. I’ve waited 30 minutes to get into the restaurant. All staff weren’t so friendly. I guess they are all busy during lunch. I was by myself and got seated by the window. It was at noon and the sun was so hot. I can barely open my eyes. I have ordered their signature OH MY GOD and the portobello mushroom is good. However

The first time I went to Baked was when it first opened in Central. A tiny little restaurant where I squeezed in at the bar seat as I watched the owner make my steak sandwich, refusing to slide my order until he got the rocket lettuce to not fall over. Then he worked on his dough when there was a break from service It felt more like eating at a friend's house. And his sourdough bread was excellent. Yes, Baked was here before Bakehouse. As I have been a repeat customer since that day so many years ago, I went to try out his new branch.

It's much larger than the old one. It was more like a restaurant with blocky wooden seats that really weren't that comfortable. Chic but not comfy.

Menu is in English only. The menu has expanded quite a bit as well. A lot more items to choose from. A lot more drinks as well.

As I was here for a tea break, I ordered a Vietnamese Iced Coffee Baked Style ($55). This was really good. Strong yet very nutty. A bit of caramel taste and the sweetness from the condensed milk.

Originally I wanted a cinnamon bun but they had sold out, so I chose a Dough-Nuts About You! ($85) as this is available as a dine in only.  This was quite a beast. A soft yet yeasty sourdough doughnut that was filled to the brim with a sweet creamy pastry cream. It was drizzled with a butterscotch sauce. Toatsed walnuts were on top along with salty caramelized pancetta. Salty, sweet, crunchy, soft. This had everything. Possibly the most expensive doughnut I've ever had but it was the most incredible.
