The newly renovated restaurant, Simplicity, at Panda Hotel has launched a special menu for all steak lovers recently. Three top-quality stone grill steaks are served with tailor-made molecular sauce. The Spanish dry-aged Galician beef striploin I ordered that night was tender and juicy. The flavour was rich even with simple seasoning. I found the molecular hollandaise sauce an interesting touch to the beautifully grilled steak. It offered diners a taste of exquisite modern food art.
Another main course was black truffle, wild mushroom and sea urchin spaghetti. I loved the creaminess and slight chewiness of the pasta. The sea urchin was fresh and soft. Together with a generous portion of black truffle paste, the dish was luxurious and a pure joy to eat.
To complete the supper, what’s better than indulging in some delectable desserts? I treated myself with the house’s signature banoffee pie and molten chocolate lava cake. I was suprised by the deliciousness of these guilty treats. The banoffee pie was absolutely irresistible with its buttery, crumbly crust, silky caramel sauce, ripe banana filling and whipped cream. The bittersweet chocate lava cake, served with vanilla ice cream, was a delight to dig in as well. Matching the warm, dense cake with cold, airy ice cream, I was impressed by the contrasting profile of textures and sensations.
