Today is our church fellowship's gathering and also to celebrate our friend's birthday. We booked this place BEFORE we saw all the bad comments. Honestly, we felft very worrying about coming to this place knowing all the bad coments, but well, since we booked it and a friend of us wanted to try their buffet, so we nevertheless went and gave it a go.
Frankly speaking, really not that bad at all. We ordered pretty much everything they had and were surprised how good for some of the foods' qualify. Ok. maybe we were under the impression that it would be horrible from the previous comments, so it could be that anything that tasted ok we would think they were good. Hmm... No, that was not the case, they were really okay. So here are some reviews on the food:
Tempuara:
Good, honestly quite good. The batter was not too thick and only slightly coated. Vegetables were good, prawn's flesh was firm, really quite okay. Worth trying. We ordered a lot actually.
串燒
A lot of them were good, especially the 雞軟骨, worth trying.
Sashimi
Selection-wise, they tried to put in as much varieties as they could considering the price. But the Salmon was way too fatty and they really cut them too small a piece that turned into 無咬口. Sad that my favorite Scallop was not part of the selection...
Sushi
Now a few of my friends complaint that the rice was not nice. Also, fish and scallop were way too thin and small, we didn't try much...
Ramen and Soba
素麪 to me was must try. I love they way they put in a lot of shallot and seaweed, very nice, I had two bowls! Yum!
Ramen was okay, I had it before in the shop, tend to be on the salty side, but those I had in Japanese were also salty, so not complaining here.
Drinks and Ice-cream:
Very generous drink selection, even cold and hot Sake are included!! I am not a drinker myself but throwing in Sake in buffet is good 誠意.
They must change the supplier of green tea ice-cream, they looked horrifying...
Good to include more hot beverages too, ie. 熱柚子蜜
All in all, we had a good time, we felt sorry how many people found it THAT bad. I think we have adjust ourselves' expectation since we are paying $168+10% and not $468+10% at a 5star hotel buffet... come on, be fair... For this price, they have certainly passed, for us anyway.
