Had dinner last Saturday. Ordered from the pre-fix menu, foie gras, cod and a dessert sampler. foie gras was not bad, a little too mushy; the fish was alright, no surprise. The best was dessert, a little sample of everything, the presentation was great which a big plus. Overall I think this is a casual, relaxed bistro style restaurant with friendly service and decent food. Worth a try!

20050117 10.30pm食完飯, 過o黎飲o野, 響呢度出面個食cigar o既corner, 我諗都係屬於呢間餐廳一部份o掛~ 一杯House Red, 一杯House Champagne.梳化位舒服, 不過無view, 同埋好爆, 鬼多, 仲有好多"國語人". 好似無人講廣東話. haha. service 一般.

鵝肝入口即溶。好好味！

Price is reasonable for the set menu. I'm not so sure about the observant of the waiters. No one hand us a menu after we sat down for 5 minutes. It is very obvious that non-Chinese speaking customer gets better service. We asked for table No.1 but we were given a table by the corridor with absolutely no view. Food is generally ok but definitely not worth going back.

The atmosphere is excellent in this French restaurant (except when their boss is having a dinner party) and the waiters are very observant. Try to book for table no.1 if you want to have a romantic dinner and be away from the crowd.

Basserie on the 8th provides authetic French cuisine w/ reasonable price. Weekday 3-course dinner set is only $288 (include desert buffet). Definitely one of the best french restruants in HK.
