After exploring a few famous Sham Shui Po snack places, boyfriend and I took my Canadian cousins to eat a dai pai dong. 愛文生 (Oi Man Sang is it's English name) is a bit of a find but definitely worth a find. It's only open at a night. Though you can sit outside, they do have indoor seating that is just as hot as outside as the air conditioner wasn't really working. The menu is in Chinese and (surprisingly!) English. I was pretty surprised by the English on the menu and wondered ... this is definitely not a tourist friendly area of town but wow! Impressive! My cousins and I could read the menu! Payment is by cash only and you pay at the cashier. There is no 10% service charge. Ordering is by screaming out your order. This is definitely not fine dining but this is about good food.
Stir Fried Squid with Vegetables ($88). Vegetables was actually chives. The squid was fresh and firm. They also stir fried dried shrimp and cashew nuts.
