Made reservation with Chope for dinner with my son and a guest visiting Hong Kong. Requested for a table with a nice view to give a good impression of the dinner for our guest. We arrived and seated right away. The place was nice, dark and a bit intimate for my taste. Seated in the middle of the room. Would have preferred a table by the glass window and saw that 2 person was sitting in a table of 4, and another 6-8 seats was empty and I assume that was reserved. Wanted the table a bit further away from other guests is because we had a child present. Anywho, ordered the Momo which was great! I had the nasi goreng which was average compared to other Indonesian, Malaysian, Singaporean restaurants. Guest had the pasta which looked great but very small portion for my taste. My son got a paper menu with crayons which was great. I didn't expect them to have it so it was great that they did. Started eating, service was great and polite (in the beginning), son was busy with his drawings. He then started to talk with one of the busgirl and she was very friendly with my son and I felt very happy with the service. Then the mood started to change when my son wanted my nasi goreng and started to make a bit of a mess (as any kids would do) with the fried rice in the table. The manager looked displeased and started to talk in Cantonese (which sadly I understood), and he ordered his staff to take our plates right away even though my son wasn't finished eating his portion of the nasi goreng and ask my son in a negative tone "are you going to eat it?". Then I knew we are not welcomed anymore and asked for the check.
Moral of the story: Good in the beginning, but not in the end.
