After lunch, we saw a new restaurant next door. It was a Chinese dessert shop located in Ladies Market. As the weather became colder, it was a good time to have something sweet yet healthy. And Chinese desserts are always the answer. The place wasn't too big with some interesting collectible toys and comic books. It seemed the owner must be a comic book fan. Seating was sparse and not too cramped.Menu is in Chinese only but they have drawings of all their items. There is no 10% service charge.Bo

Boyfriend had the taro ($26). He loved it. The taro was cooked so long, it literally melted into one gooey smooth paste. It was not too sweet with loads of taro flavor.
I had the papaya with snow fungus ($28) because it's really healthy for you. It wasn't too sweet with a hint of ginger. The papaya was sweet and cooked to nice soft texture that wasnt too mushy. The snow fungus gave a good bit of chewy texture.
As we both thought the desserts were really good, we decided to share one. And that was a sweet almond tong shui ($28). This was really sweet and quite good. A lot of places it's either too thick or too watery. This was the right texture. It was smooth and not grainy. We should have added money for an egg to make it even better.
A great little dessert shop that we'll definitely come back. Especially after dinner. It's so rare to find a Chinese dessert shop that only serves traditional desserts and no modern ones like lava cakes and waffles. Will definitely be back.
