Mostly positive reviews in here, I wonder I went to the same place as everyone mentioned. I went here on a Sunday evening around five something with my husband. The seats were fine and they staff were okay. The problem was the food. At the price of 5XX for two, the quality should be a lot better.Sashimi, not very fresh. I wrote ten slices of salmon, they gave you five. I wrote five slices of snail meat, they gave you ten. Too much flour to wrap the deep fried dishes. The broken hot spring egg. Not to mention the scary looking plates to hold the dishes.The only good dishes would be the four cubes of beef they gave you for free at the beginning as well as the marinated lamb chop and beef tongue that you could order yourself. If the three dishes were the only good ones, why I had to be here. There are a lot of choices out there. Not to mentiom about their dessert fridge. It was TERRIBLE. The ice lollies are good but the good ones only allow each customer to take one. After one hour and fifteen mintues, the staff had already asked you to settle the bill. At the end of my meal, although the staff had asked me any dishes were missing but the missing dishes never arrived. The dinner ended with sadness and we did not eat much. The first reason why I always dine in Marks & Spencer Cafe is the expected quality. The second one is probably the children friendly menu and setting. I was with my daughter again and the first thing she did was to take a book from the shelf to read. Right after the reading, she took a sheet of colouring paper and started colouring with the crayons. Here came the dishes. The mushroom soup. Could be better, a bit plain. Lemonade with soda water. It tended to be the diet one. You could taste the sugar substitute. Lemon water was great as you owned the whole pot of hot water. Lasagna was great, I would want a bigger portion. The slice of victoria cake was as sweet as expected, very British. With reference to the price, the quality is about right. Marks & Spencer Cafe is definitely the right place for a quick lunch for families. One thing to mention, the staff were very efficient, they closely observed the diners and collected the finished dishes. However, I felt like being monitored and I was not very comfortable with that. With reference to my previous good experience dining at Glasshouse, I purposely booked the restaurant again. However, I was greatly disappointed by the restaurant. I booked the restaurant from Openrice this time in order to enjoy the 80% discount of dishes on the main menu. I went to the restaurant in time with my daughter, my daughter's friend and her mum. Once we arrived, the staff ignored us. We had stood at the entrance for ten minutes. Finally, the staff allowed us to get in. We ordered the pizza and two iced chocolate from the main menu and two sets from the set menu. One with salad, drink and sandwich. Another one with soup, drink and soup noodles. Foods were decent. Drinks looked great as usual. I believe that they have good chefs and bartenders. However, here came the bill time. I had informed that about the discount offered. And the staff said if we had ordered the sets, there won't be any discount unless every single food and drink were from the main menu. In that case. If we ordered ten things on the set menu, we still could not enjoy any discount if we had ordered one set. This is ridiculous. It was my husband's birthday. Since we had an outing afterwards, we decided to wear something really casual. Once we entered the restaurant, we could feel the effort the owner has dedicated in the place. Due to the fact that it was the lunch time, the stage was covered, the restaurant was not spacious enough. Haha! It would be better for you guys to dress at least smart casual to the restaurant as everyone elses did wear formally. The staff greeted us nicely. We got a table in the middle of the left side of the restaurant which was a bit uncomfortable. Once we settled down, we ordered the sparkling water, pork trotters, rib eyes, chicken breast, creme brulee, chocolate fondant, iced milk tea and ice coffee. The staff served each of us a small slice of bread(sour dough). To be honest, the portion was far smaller than those standard French restaurants I went to before and the butter used was not specially flavoured. The appertizer was pork trotters. Personally, I did not think it would be decent enough to put a deep fried dish at the beginning of a French set, not to mention it tasted like an ordinary deep fried fish fillet you could get from Aeon. The cold tomato soup after was simply sour, no other flavour. The main dishes were much better. Rib eyes was soft and tender and children breast was well-cooked. The dessert were normal with standard sweet taste of French dining. The iced milk tea and the iced coffee were really below standard. We prefered to stick with our sparkling water. Few minor improvement suggested. Although there were many staff, the frequency of making mistakes was quite high. After we settled down, one waiter immediately placed us two dishes which were not belong to us and at that moment, we just took off our masks. The waiter suddenly recalled the mistake and took the dishes from us and placed them back to the correct table. It was quite unhygienic, right. After we almost finished the food, my husband's iced coffee was still missing. We had to ask them for it again. There were at least ten staff serving around ten to twenty tables. I was alone this time, waiting for my daughter finishing her Cambridge test near the mall. From the name of the brand, I expected a high quality dining experience. However, it was very dispointing. I chose a seat against the wall, placed my bag and went to buy my meal. I ordered a cup of passion fruit pineapple fizz and a plate of salmon avocado zoodle with eggs. Right after my order, the staff immediately started making my drink. She did everything in front of me....Put a scoop of passion fruit syrup, then pour a can of Schweppes into a plastic cup....then done...no more. at the price of $45, that's really terrible. A decent coffee from Starbucks is cheaper than that. It took a while for the plate of zoodle to arrive. The layout of the dish was horrible enough that you didn't have to mood to eat it. A slice of hot avocado, a few slices of cold smoked salmon, a handful of zoodle which covered with some eggs in weird shapes. The taste was not very bad but simply not worth the price. My husband and I were being attracted my the light of this new restaurant in Wong Tai Sin Shpping Mall. After checking the menu, we thought the price was so cheap for Japanese food. It is a self-served restaurant. Once you got inside, you have to fill the form, measure your temperature and find a seat yourself. The attitude of the staff at the cashier was quite rude. It was not a good sign. We settled ourselves down and ordered two bowls of ramen, two drinks and two snacks. The food arrived quickly. Once I looked into it, I was so shocked as there was no steam coming out from the bowls. I drank a sip from my bowl....the soup was barely warm. It was kind of unacceptable to have a warm bowl of ramen. The soup was with MSG. This kind of soup made people thirsty. My jaw fell all the way on the the table once I saw my drinks. There were simplied Chinese printed on the container. I got to know that it was a fake Japanese restaurant when I saw the same situation concerning the tableware. The snacks were fine but they were just the one you could buy from AEON. Im conclusion, if you want to fill your stomach only, it could be a good choice as there were not many people. If you have tried tempura in Japan. You will definitely be disappointed.I was being attracted by the display menu at the entrance of the restaurant. It was around 2:00 p.m. Two of us got a seat easily. There were only two pages of menu. Not many to choose from. After ordering, we had waited for near 30 minutes for the food to arrive. There were not many people. So, it was really slow. Especially for tempura, foods got a bit soaky. A good bowl of tempura should be very crunchy, instead, the fish was a bit chewy. The tempura egg was overcooked. The best part of the set was the rice and the sauce. To conclude, I do not recommend this restaurant. I wonder why there is a number of negative comments concerning Glasshouse recently as my dining experience there was not bad at all. Same as Sushiro, Glasshouse uses her own Google form for in-house diners. The waiters and waitress are not super nice type of people but very efficient. Since it was tea time, I was lucky enough to dine at the booth seat with my daughter. I couldn't keep my eye away from the drink list. The drinks looked exceptional. In the end, we ordered a pizza, all day breakfast, a cup of English breakfast tea as well as a glass of strawberry smoothie. The pizza was just perfect for kids since there were no slices of tomato and pepper. It was all covered with cheese and fresh tomato paste. The portion was too huge, we had to take away half of the pizza. For all day breakfast, this was one of the very few restaurants using fresh barbecued corn, not the canned ones. The fish fillet was not cat fish, however, I couldn't tell what kind of fish was it. The balance of sweet and sour taste of the strawberry smoothie was just about right. This was my first time having French cuisine in Hong Kong. Like everybody else, I prefer to try something special out of Hong Kong. However, due to the pademic, I have to find special places to dine in Hong Kong with my family at Easter.The restaurant is a cozy one. Do not expect the type of glamorous decoration. It is comfortable though. I had a booking at 6:30p.m. since I worried about the crowd. I believe that the menu is designed for people in Hong Kong. Not hard to understand at all. Since there were only my mum, my sister and me, we only ordered a 3-course set for each. Since my mum likes oysters, we ordered two as a starter for her. Before we got the dish, we had a basket of buns. Taste very decent. We each ordered a different type of soup. Onion soup, lobster soup and bouillabaisse. The onion soup was a bit salty. The lobster soups was a bit bitter and the bouillabaosse was simply perfect.For the main dish, the pork chop was out of stock. So, we ordered the French pigeon, the duck confit and the beef cheek. The duck confit was crunchy on the outside and moist from the inside. The pigeon was special and the smell was great. I would prefer the steak to the beef cheek next time. For the dessert, we ordered icing fruit, chocolate lava cake and cream brulee. In general, I discovered that French desserts are very sweet. Hongkongers might find it a bit hard to finish them. Time for Japanese food. My daughter and I love high quality carbon hydrate. We were attracted by the look of the restaurant at first. The restaurant serves standard food at a reasonable price. There are also super enthusiastic staff. The setting of table increases the level of dining privacy. You won't feel bad even the shop is crowded. Once we got into the restaurant, the staff greeted us. I did hope they could speak better Japanese. Or simply skipped it. After we settled down, my daughter placed a head of her toy onto the toothpick. The staff immediately came over and mentioned about the importance of hygiene. From the incident, I could see that the restaurant was very concern about the health of diners. Much appreciated. We ordered mainly side dishes since there were only two of us. It was a Sunday late afternoon. My daughter wanted to have some sweet treats AGAIN! We passed by Teawood and were attracted by the promotion board of the afternoon tea. We gave it a try.The environment was okay. More space was needed between tables. It was quite a noisy place. The main dishes arrived at a fast manner. It should be really nice to dine with the lovely fish. However, it would be better if no seafood was served in the menu. By the way, the fish tank looked a bit dirty. There were not many choices from the menu. For children meal, apart from the extra dessert, everything was identical to the meal you could get in a regular restaurant in Ocean Park. So, the price was be a bit high in here. For adults, there were not many choices as well, I ordered a set, of course, not seafood.In general, the food was ok. Do not order drinks from their bar. After the first try, I keep on thinking about it. It allows me to take a break 'in Japan'.The best time to go to the restaurant is around 5:00 pm. There are people but I do not need to queue. One of the many restaurants in HK that offers balloons to children upon arrival. It is always relaxing to look at the train running on the track in the ceiling. I am not a fan of food with borscht. One evening, my husband and I had to wait for my daughter finishing her painting class, we randomly chose a place nearby to sit in. I would say the price was quite low since the quality as well as quantity of the food served was very reasonable. However, I do advise you not to select drinks like milk tea or coffee.
