The first reason why I always dine in Marks & Spencer Cafe is the expected quality. The second one is probably the children friendly menu and setting. I was with my daughter again and the first thing she did was to take a book from the shelf to read. Here came the dishes. The mushroom soup. Could be better, a bit plain. Lemonade with soda water. It tended to be the diet one. You could taste the sugar substitute. Lemon water was great as you owned the whole pot of hot water. Lasagna was great, I would want a bigger portion. The slice of victoria cake was as sweet as expected, very British.
With reference to the price, the quality is about right. Marks & Spencer Cafe is definitely the right place for a quick lunch for families. One thing to mention, the staff were very efficient, they closely observed the diners and collected the finished dishes. However, I felt like being monitored and I was not very comfortable with that. I wonder there are ways for the staff to observe in a more natural way.
