Environment (6/10)Typical bar environment with high tables. Quite clean with decent service.Wings (9/10)Great wings. Got them in mild spicy and it was already quite spicy. The wings were very hot when they arrived, good balance on the honey, garlic and spice. Quite high on my wings ranking list! Steak Fajitas (5/10)Lots of beef, sizzling on the hot plate when it arrived. The steak was quite tough unfortunately.Overall (7/10)Amazing value for the food with the AE discount. The wings are amazing and portions are very big. There is only one food menu here for dinner, which includes a salad, and steak and fries with unlimited fries refills! You can also order a variety of drinks and desserts.Environment and Service (5/10)Quite rowdy, dark, but I guess the expat crowd would like it. Tables were a bit too close together for my liking. The cakes were wheeled around on a large cart and kept there all night, which didn’t seem to hygienic. Good service and attentive staff. We were offered more fries throughout the meal without asking.Salad (4/10)Really nothing special at all about this. Similar to any appetizer salad you get for a lunch set around Central. Steak (6/10)It was cooked to order and was a decent steak, though there were some tendons inside. Wasn’t close to the best steak I’ve had, but for the price, I didn’t expect that either.Fries (8/10)These were great. Although I suspect a huge amount of chicken salt/MSG on them, they were addicting and I definitely had more than I should have! Overall (6/10)For the price it was a decent meal. Ordered a bunch of pies for delivery to the office. They need 24 hours order in advance, but I e-mailed them too late. The owner, RJ Asher, was kind enough to e-mail me back and assure me that they would accommodate my order. Orders over $500 just need $28 delivery fee, which is definitely a good idea if you order more. Delivery was on time, and they even gave us 3 free 4.5” American Apple Pies!I tried a few pies:Wholly Heavens Chocolate Pecan Bites (10/10)This was actually heavenly, the crust was crumbly, good balance of chocolate in the filling, wasn’t too sweet. Couldn’t stop eating these! American Apple Pie (10/10)Great pie crust, not too sweet and lots of apple slices which were tender but not mushy. Loved it! Tart Cherry Sweet Crumble Bites (8/10)Good crumble, not too sweet.Drunken Apple Crumble Bite (6/10)Wasn’t able to taste any alcohol, but it was similar to the American Apple Pie, not quite as good, but with some crumble.Sweet Blueberry Hill Crumble Bites (3/10)Similar to the Tart Cherry Crumble too, but it was too sweet.Overall (8/10)The pecan pie and American apple pie were really great, definitely worth a try! …查看更多

Environment & Service (6/10)This looks like a quaint little café in Paris. It’s a little bit cramped, but service is pretty good.Foie Gras with Poele (8/10)The foie gras was cooked well, not too oily or raw. It was served on roasted pears and bread. All the components tasted good together.French Onion Soup (5/10)Quite a lot of cheese, but the bread and soup could have used a bit more salt. Pretty decent but not as good as the one I once had in Paris.Meuniere Style Sole (6/10)The sole was not overcooked, but was bit on the oily side. The sauce provided a good contrast to it. Not particularly amazing though.Confit duck leg (4/10)The duck leg was very salty, and slightly burnt. Tasted a bit like Chinese salty ham!Chocolate Fondue (5/10)Decent for the price. They could have gave us a bit more stuff to dip though.Crème Brulee (6/10)Good glaze on the crème brulee, and the vanilla ice cream was really good!The actual custard wasn’t that great though.Overall (5/10)The food was decent but nothing special. Environment & Service (8/10)I came here for lunch with some colleagues.This restaurant is quite open, with decent seating and well lit in the daytime. The area is an old area around Tang Lung Street, so the view is not spectacular.The service is good, staff are attentive and nice.Steak salad (10/10)Very nice salad, the steak was well seasoned and lightly charred. They put some truffle oil on top, which added to the flavor (Fun Fact: did you know that most truffle oils aren't even made with truffles? Its just chemicals!)For a salad which came with a set, it was really good!Cream soup (5/10)Forgot what soup this was. It was quite clumpy, and was lacking in flavor. Nothing special here.Chicken sandwich (9/10)The burger had 2 pieces of grilled chicken breast, which were well cooked and seasoned. The veggies were fresh, and higher quality than the general stuff you get with burgers. The bun was well toasted, and still soft in the middle. Pretty darn good burger for the money. It’s also the first time I’ve seen a burger served with tater tots, a welcome sight! Overall (9/10)This is probably one of the best value-for-money lunch sets I’ve ever had below 100 (before service charge). Environment & Service (4/10)Not much of a view, quite crowded at lunch, and seating is a bit cramped. Service is not particularly good, and the waiter dripped hot tea on my pants and didn’t even say sorry! Maybe it’s different at dinner. Salmon & Salmon Roe Rice (9/10)Very thick cuts of salmon. Both the Salmon and Salmon Roe was very fresh.Quite good for the money, though I would have personally liked the fish sliced a bit thinner.Overall (7/10)The lunch sets are in the 200-250 price range and come with and appetizer & miso soup. Honestly, I would have expected better service at this price. I have been here quite a few times. It's a very comfortable place with attentive staff.Environment & Service (8/10)The view is of Prince’s Building across the street, nothing too special. The larger tables are very comfortable to sit at, but the smaller tables (for 2 people, if the larger tables are filled) are a bit small. Overall, it’s quite a comfortable restaurant.The staff are very attentive and well mannered. I once found a hair on a piece of cake, and they replaced it and they didn’t charge me for the cake!Bread (9/10)Comes free with every dinner visit – warm, soft on the inside, with herbs and butter, while the side is crispy. I find it hard to stop eating it! Their balsamic vinegar is awesome too.Fish and Chips (9/10)Great presentation, served on newspaper just like the old style fish and chips in the UK (the newspaper is made of plastic though, hehe). The batter is light and not too thick, beer taste not very strong. The cod is juicy and flavorful, perfectly cooked. The fries could use a bit more seasoning but nothing a bit of salt and pepper can’t fix. Probably one of the best fish and chips I’ve had in HK.Ham and pepperoni pizza (5/10)Decent but not amazing. The crust is a bit burnt, and the overall pizza is a tad too salty. The peppers are a nice touch and give it a little kick.Blueberry cheesecake (10/10)MO is famous for its cheesecake and this is one of the best version of theirs that I’ve had. The cheese was dense yet still a bit fluffy. It’s not too sweet, and the coffee cake/cookie base adds a very slight bitter taste to it (a good kind of bitter). The blueberry sauce has crushed blueberries, together with the berry ice cream, complements the cake wonderfully!Overall (9/10)Generally speaking I’m been very happy with the food, environment and service here every time I’ve come. Environment & Service (5/10):Watermark is situated at the Central piers. It has a beautiful sea view, you should book early to get a window seat.The service on the other hand was not that great – the waiters don’t like it if you don’t order wine, are grumpy, and don’t explain the dishes at all.Lobster bisque (8/10):This lobster bisque didn't have too much alcohol in it like some other restaurants. There was just enough so that the lobster taste still came through. Salmon sharing platter (9/10):This platter included salmon caviar, salmon rilettes, salmon tartar. Everything was fresh and the portion was huge, definitely high value for money. I couldn’t stop eating the mini pancakes and potato salad too! Watermark mixed grill (9/10):The mixed grill came with scallops, seabass, halibut, lobster (from left to right). All of the seafood was perfectly cooked. The seabass was flakey and very tasty. While it was relatively pricy, it was definately worth it. 4-bone lamb rack (8/10):The lamb was wonderfully seasoned and the meat tender. The mashed potatoes on the side were kind of bland but we were already pretty full, so it didn’t matter.Watermark fish pie (5/10):There were different bits of seafood under the mashed potato. It tasted good, but was quite oily and very heavy. Chocolate textures (2/10)resentation was great, but they put some kind of herb in this dessert which entirely ruined the taste. This was the only let-down of the night… but it could be just that I didn’t like this flavor. Overall (8/10):Most of the food here was amazing. Portions were big, and seafood was perfectly cooked. With the AE discount it was also good value for money. I’d like to come again, but hopefully they train their staff better before my next visit. …查看更多

Environment & Service (6/10)The restaurant is a U-shaped bar tables, where the chefs prepare the food in the middle. The seats therefore are not very comfortable, but it creates an interesting environment where you can watch the chefs prepare your food.Dishes are prepared on a batch basis (a batch for each round of customers, 2-3 rounds a night), so if you arrive at different times from other customers you might have to wait longer or shorter for your dishes as you get grouped into a “round” of customers. This is unavoidable due to the small size of the kitchen. This also means a lot of the dish components are prepared long beforehand and retrieved from the fridge. Sometimes a dish can be half-plated and put in a corner up to 20-30 minutes in advance (not necessarily a good thing to see happening in front of you…)The service is of very high quality. You can see the care the chefs take in preparing your dishes. The executive chef examines the dishes before serving and he sets a very high standard, especially for hygiene. Each dish is served and explained by the chefs. While they did take the effort to explain the dish components, sometimes there were many components to a dish and it wasn’t clear how you were supposed to eat that dish.Oyster, Snap Pea, Yuzu, Yogurt (9/10)This was well done, the small frozen yogurt pieces, complemented the oyster very well. Great way to have oysters.Tuna, Sea Urchin, Espelette, Rice (4/10)This dish didn’t come together as well as I expected. The uni was fresh, but there was some caviar which was very bitter inside. The crispy rice on the side was also unseasoned and didn’t mix very well with the overall dish.Shellfish, White asparagus, Rosemary, Vanilla (2/10)Every component of this dish was very small. There were 3-4 different types of shellfish, 3 different sauces, and 3 very small pieces of white asparagus. It wasn’t explained which shellfish went with which sauce. It looked nice but the flavours weren’t put together/thought through very well in my opinion.Monkfish cheeks, Wild garlic leave, Morel, Coffee (7/10)The monkfish (right) was cooked nicely, went very well with the coffee sauce. The liver (left) was also good.Egg, Truffle, Parmesan, Caviar (3/10)This was their signature dish. It was a cheese ravioli with caviar, truffle and egg yolk on top. I felt the ravioli could be lighter because this dish was way too heavy.Pigeon, smoked foie gras, black berry, waffle (6/10)The pigeon and foie gras tasted great, but the portion was too small. The waffle was cold when it arrived and had berries on top, which didn’t really fit the rest of the dish in my opinion.Baby Lamb, Black Garlic, Tomato, Burnt Grape (5/10)There was a piece of lamb and a lamb meatball. It was alright, nothing really stood out with this dish.DessertsStrawberry, Coconut, Champagne, Pink peppercorn (7/10)This was created in front of you as if the chefs were painting a picture. The strawberry ice cream and strawberry with champagne jelly were quite nice and innovativeEarl Grey, Quinoa, Sakura Shrimp (3/10)The Earl Grey ice cream was bland so the overall dish didn’t taste like muchWarm Madeleine (1/10)This tasted burnt…Marshmellow, Watermelon juice (6/10)This was the same tray which the expandable napkin was first offered at the beginning of the meal. The napkin was replaced with a house made marshmallow and the water was replaced with watermelon juice. Quite a cool idea!Overall (5/10)It wasn’t a particularly pricy meal considering that there were 10 courses. Every dish was presented very nicely, and service was excellent. However, I think the chefs tried to put too many components on every plate and this often decreased the average quality of the dishes. Given the small team that they have, most components were had to be prepared beforehand and were cold. They might benefit from focusing on fewer components and making those really stand out.Given the great things I heard about this place and the long wait (~1 month booking in advance), I was quite dissapointed that it didn't live up to the hype. …查看更多

Environment & Service (9/10):The place is not as big as I expected and can be more casual compared to some other fine dining restaurants (and loud because the tables are closer together). There was no pressure from the staff, they were friendly, attentive and explained the dishes well.The view is great (the sea view above is from our table) but there are only a few window seats so book early!Sashimi Tacos (5/10):Salmon, Crab and Lobster tacos were fresh. On the other hand the Tuna didn’t seem too fresh and tasted very fishy. Overall this dish was quite mediocre.Toro Tartar with Caviar (10/10):The Toro cooled to the perfect temperature such that it didn’t feel fatty when eaten. It was accompanied by the salty burst of flavor from the caviar breaking into your mouth, sweet & slight sourness of the accompanying ponzu/soy sauce and the whole dish went absolutely perfect together. A bit pricy, but this was just incredible, best dish of the evening!Rock Shrimp Tempura with Creamy Spicy Sauce (8/10):The spicy sauce adds a nice kick to the tempura shrimp pieces. Nice dish, big portion too.Unagi and Foie Gras with Apple Balsamic (7/10):The unagi and foie gras were placed in a piece of tempura seaweed and topped with some crunchy rice and balsamic. The quality of the ingredients was high and each piece was executed well but when everything came together it was a bit too heavy in my opinion.Black Cod Saikyo Yaki (10/10):The cod was well marinated, the flavors were intense but not overbearing. I particularly liked the areas which were slightly burnt . The fish was cooked perfectly, flaky while moist and with smooth texture.Dessert Yon Ten Mori (Chef’s sampler) (8/10):Mango sorbet (left) – really strong mango flavorSnowSweet (middle top left) – This was a strawberry/yoghurt/jello combination, surprisingly nice!Chocolate cake (top) – should be the same chocolate cake from their chocolate bento box. Wasn’t as good as some other reviewers had said in my opinion. This might be because there wasn’t any green tea ice cream to go with it!Whisky Iced Cappuccino (bottom) – coffee cream, cocoa crumble and whisky foam. The whisky foam was light and went very well with the coffee cream. Quite a special dessert.Raspberry Marscapone (right) - don't really like marscapone myself so no comment.Overall (9/10)I had some of the best fusion japanese dishes I’ve ever tasted here. Portions were generous, service was great and it definately was better value for money compared to many other fine dining restaurants. I saw this place next door while having brunch at BRICKLANE. I had a look at some reviews and decided to give it a try.We ordered the 7 course omakase. This should be interpreted here as the “set of the day”, as everybody gets the same set.Service (9/10)The place was homey and gave off a very Japanese vibe. There are not a lot of seats.There were two Japanese chefs and two Chinese waiters. Service was good and dishes were cooked in front of you behind the sushi bar. The chefs started cooking your next dish as you are about to finish your current course, so everything is fresh and hot. Appetizer - Onsen Tamago (9/10)The egg was cooked perfectly with a light soy sauce to match. Great start to the meal!Sashimi platter (8/10)There were 4 types of sashimi – Toro, halibut/flounder, mackerel and sliced sardines (as I couldn’t have shrimp, the chef kindly swapped it for mackerel). All of the sashimi was fresh. The sliced sardines were mixed with some ginger and garlic. It was nice combination!Grilled platter (2/10)There was a big piece of scallop and some kind of fish. I could not tell what fish it was, but both items were overcooked and it was a bit dry.Oyster hotpot (7/10)The oysters were fresh. It came with tofu, shitake mushrooms and some veggies. The soup was light and very refreshing.Tempura platter (10/10)There was eggplant, green pepper, noodle sticks (the fan-like thing in the back) and a salmon roll. Tempura was properly done, and the salmon roll was the highlight of the evening. From outside to inside, the roll composed of tempura, seaweed, salmon, seaweed, and salmon caviar. It came together amazingly!Noodles (6/10)We had a choice of soba noodles or udon.Dessert (4/10)We were given one Japanese strawberry each. Quite nice, but expected a bit more...Overall (6/10)Overall, this place offers fresh, authentic Japanese food served in a cozy environment. Just not sure if the omakase set was worth the price. Having heard wonderful things from quite a few friends about the Grand Hyatt Steakhouse, I decided to take Miss P here for Christmas Eve! Setting (9/10)The place has a great ambiance, with dim lighting, leather/sofa type chairs, and ample room between tables. There are a few sections to the restaurant, the main salad bar area has “cart” seats, ideal for couples. FoodTonight, it was a Christmas Eve set menu at HKD1,480/person, not including drinks and service.Cocktails (8/10)Quite innovative cocktails here – bit on the strong side, so the ladies may want to ask them to make it a bit sweeter.Garlic Bread (5/10)The bread had great flavor, with just the right amount of crisp. Too bad it was only mildly warm when it came.Salad Bar (8/10)Nice selection at the salad bar – Oysters, iberico ham, smoked salmon, duck pate, shrimp cocktail, made-to-order salad, DIY salad barGood quality ham and smoked salmon. Oysters were not the freshest.Unfortunately the staff at the salad bar was sneezing and sniffing on top of the salad section, and did not even wear a mask. Later in the night, I had to visit the toilet multiple times – this may have had something to do with it!  Lobster Bisque (4/10)Not as good as some of the competition out there. XO Cognac taste was not overpowering, but the flavor profile of the lobster was quite weak. There needed to be some additional brightness in the taste.Nebraska NESA Prime Slow Roasted Rib Eye (8/10)This was Miss P’s choice for the evening, a roasted rib-eye steak, cooked perfectly medium rare. The steak was well distributed in fat content, just a bit of tendon around the “eye”. Could use a bit more crispiness to the edges. Personally, I liked it alot as I prefer the taste of US beef.We were offered many mustards and sauces to choose from. He recommended the truffle mustard, which was surprisingly balanced and complemented the steaks wonderfully.Nebraska USDA Prime Strip Loin 12 Oz (4/10)The Strip Loin was cooked to my preference, also served on a warm plate. The char was not as good as Intercon’s. The fat distribution was decent but the steak was chewy as there was too much tendon.The biggest let down of this steak was not so much the quality, but the fact that it was barely warm when it arrived.My personal opinion is that a steak is not hard to cook. There are fewer steps than most other sophisticated and similarly priced dishes. However, its difficult to master those simple steps in cooking and serving a steak in a restaurant setting, and unfortunately my experience was probably ruined by a cook/waiter who let my steak get cold before getting it to our table.Side dishesDuck fat fries (9/10) – these were well seasoned, potato wedges were slightly chewy as you bit into themWhipped potatoes nutmeg (7/10) – well executed, standard mashed potatoesWinter mushrooms (5/10) – decent, nothing specialDessertsHomemade Christmas Plum Pudding (not rated)Nice presentation, personally do not like Plum Pudding so I will not comment on the taste. At the marked up price we were paying, I would have liked more choice on the desserts, however.Black Forest Christmas Log Cake (7/10)Very nice presentation on this! It was a fun end to the meal.The chocolate soft serve ice cream was rich and light. The log cake itself wasn’t particularly special, it was a bit on the dry side and could use more cream filling. There were other fruits and cookies around the dish, those were decent as well.Service (9/10)The service was one of the best I’ve experienced at a hotel steakhouse. The waiters were patient and were knowledgeable about their food and drinks. Miss P likes her cocktails sweeter, they said they would adjust the sweetness accordingly. We were recommended duck fat fries by a friend – although they didn’t have it on the Xmas set menu, I just mentioned this to the waiter and they made us a special batch on the house!Near the end of the meal, they took a picture of us and put it in a nice red card backing for us to commemorate the meal!Conclusion (6.5/10)The place has a great ambiance and the level of service was impeccable. Portions are big and the salad bar has a nice selection. It was rather unfortunate and maybe I was unlucky that there were a few major setbacks that I didn’t expect at hotel dining and on Christmas Eve. Perhaps the staff need more training on hygiene and time management.Overall, I think that this is a decent place to dine.
