On the eve of public holiday, my wife and I decided to have a sumptuous dinner to end the day off. Maruju Aburi Farm was a Japanese restaurant located inside MOKO, beside Mongkok East MTR. Pickles - It came with garlic, beansprouts and kimchi. Garlic was crunchy and flavourful, beansprouts was juicy and kimchi was crunchy as well.
Avocado and crab roe salad - Salad was very fresh and crunchy, avocado helping to make it creamy and crab roe helping to make it flavourful. Crab meat was juicy and fresh too.
Homemade Japanese omelet - It was huge in portion, and was very soft and smooth. It was almost tasteless, able to taste the freshness.
Salmon sashimi was fresh and soft, almost melting in my mouth. Prawn sashimi was fresh and juicy too.
Assorted tempura was deep fried till very crispy and yet when eaten, it was still soft and the sauce provided helped to enhance the taste.
Wagyu beef oyster blade on hotplate - The way of eating was interesting. Raw beef was placed on top of a very hot plate and it was cooked easily. The texture of the beef was thin and was tender and juicy too.
Seafood skewer box - It consisted of prawn, oyster, mackerel, fresh water eel and scallops. They were skewed till flavourful and were very chewy. Lemon slices even helped to bring out the flavour further.
Wagyu beef udon - The chef was very generous with the portion, with a big bowl of udon and a plate of wagyu beef. Egg helped to make the soup creamy and smooth, and was tasty as well. Udon was very chewy and smooth, and fried beef was juicy and tender as well.
