After hearing all the reviews of La Vache! We have decided to try this as a Friday night treat. Arriving at around 7:30, we expected to wait for a bit. At the reception, they put us on the waiting list and we were told the wait will be 1.5-2h, so we left our phone number and waited. After waiting about 1.5h, we called and asked for updates and were told that there will be another 30-45mins wait. We headed to the restaurant after 30 mins and was told that our table was gone since they cannot cont
After waiting about 1.5h, we called and asked for updates and were told that there will be another 30-45mins wait. We headed to the restaurant after 30 mins and was told that our table was gone since they cannot contact us!!!! We were then having to wait for another 45 minutes before we were offered our seats😤!!
After this whole saga of about 3h wait, we were tired, went from hungry to starving to no hunger.
Service after we were seated down was basic and that the wine recommendation was really not great. We almost did not drink it.
Salad - vegetable was fresh. It was not lacking salad dressing for sure! Way too much and was so salty!!
L'entrecote - the quality of the meat was good unfortunately, maybe chef has been cooking all day that one of our medium and one of our medium rare were underdone. We sent back the medium but it came back near to well done and was chewy. This is the basic where I was hoping to get after 3h wait. Truly disappointed!
Chips - tasted ok but not exceptional
Secret sauce - this was good
After all these, we did not risk ourselves with desserts...
Unfortunately this did not meet our expectation and far from what La Relais in Europe offers. If this was truly inspired by the steak frites places in Europe, perhaps some refinement is required.
Never again for the 4 of us!
