I’ve always be meaning to write reviews but have been too lazy to do it until now. Ain't nobody’s got time for that! So, being a public holiday today I thought I would take my wife out for a nice lunch in Harbour City, our first choice was the Vietnamese restaurant there, but unfortunately it was closed. So, being a public holiday today I thought I would take my wife out for a nice lunch in Harbour City, our first choice was the Vietnamese restaurant there, but unfortunately it was closed. So we decided to venture further in to see what else there is. As my wife was getting more hungry and grumpy I had to pick a place fast.
I’ve heard about Paper moon before and read the reviews, it wasn’t that great but I was willing to give it a try, Big mistake!
As the hostess was showing us to our seats it was really hot and stuffy, I asked can we change place, in which she mumbled something and pointed to our seat, so I thought what the heck, We’ll just sit here for now and see how it goes. We were seated directly facing the sun!! It was so hot that my arse was starting to sweat!!
As we were to ordering our meal, one of the waiters kept coming up beside me and picking up stuff and dropping it off, it was very irritating, after asking my wife what the heck he is doing he left it and left!
We ordered the calamari, the presentation looks nice but it was bland, there was no seasoning what so ever!! The mayonnaise sauce helped, but for a place like this I expected a lot more. TASTE YOUR FOOD!!
As we were tucking into our appetizer the staff started to move chairs and started cleaning windows, come on guys, can you do this when the customers have left.
For my mains I had the sausage, mushroom pasta, which it was quite tasty seasoned well, pasta was cooked well. But as I was digging into it there was a huge pool of oil at the bottom of the plate. Seriously!! There was more oil on my plate then there is in the Saudi Arabia oil reserves!
The Chef should of pick this up if he actually took the care to see what was coming out of his kitchen, very disappointed.
My wife ordered the goat cheese pizza, which to be fair wasn’t bad but we only ate half of it, because at this point we were getting really hot and irritated, we just ask for the bill and left.
It is places like this that drives me insane, they have an lovely location, they have really nice equipment and fancy kitchen but they let themselves down with this kind of food and services. Such a shame. Wouldn’t come back if you offered me all the whiskey in Ireland!
