Whilst you might associate Temple street with a number of things, including street stalls, Indian food, and Fortune Tellers, you probably wouldn't be able to think of Japanese food. Alas, there's a new japanese Don restaurant that has emerged, serving up some fresh Sashimi rice. The menu has a ton of things to choose from, and we decided to go for two dons, including its signature double layer don, and the Assorted Sashimi Cups.
-- Double Layer Don ($268) --
The top layer consists of lobster and Assorted Sashimi. I loved the variety and the quality of the Sashimi and the portion was great too. The lobster was meaty and huge too!
However, the Udon severely did not agree with me because the sauce was much too thick and clogged. I would've much preferred to have the top layer on its own.
-- Assorted Sashimi Cups --
I actually enjoyed this more than the aforementioned dish, mainly because the cups are delicate and small, which makes it very appetising. The quality of the Sashimi provided are also good.
The cups include:
- Salmon + Salmon Roe
- Squid + Flying Fish Roe
- Minced Tuna
- Shrimp
- Sea Urchin
And they even have an abalone and crabstick rolls
