We have been constantly craving for hotpot and Taijimaya is surely one of the go-to places for a decent hotpot meal. The environment of the place is Japanese-like and quite clean indeed. The services provided by the waiters are quite efficient, plus they are very helpful and friendly. The set we ordered was the Hokkaido breed pork and beef all you can eat set with soup bases of our choices. We chose a Dashi base and a soy sauce sukiyaki base, which are very different in flavor. The Dashi base is quite light in flavor, and on the other hand the sukiyaki one is sweet and rich in taste.
The quality of the beef and pork are very good as well, as they are served fresh and soft. Combined with the sukiyaki soup base, it is basically the best thing ever. It will be even more perfect if there are half-boiled coddled eggs provided at the self-serving area!
The self-service section is tidy and clean, with a wide variety of ingredients to choose from.
There is also an all you can drink promotion for the Japanese Ramune soft drink - a very nostalgic and playful little drink that I have not tried in a long long time. We loved it when we were small cause it was so interesting like a toy!
The ice cream box contains 4 different flavors of Haagen Daz ice cream, namely strawberry, caramel biscuits & tiramisu, cookies & cream and melon. There are also some popcorn and gummy bears for you to add on to your ice cream for extra sweetness.
All in all, the hygiene condition of this hotpot place is outstanding, and the service was efficient. The overall quality of food is good and there is a wide range of variety for the ingredients. Will certainly come back again for an easy hotpot experience.
