It was a birthday celebration meal for my wife, she went to Sushi Saito the week before and was a little disappointed so we were going without huge expectations.First off, the staff were polite and friendly and tried to make conversation, didn’t push us to order wine (I had taken COVID vaccine earlier in the day so didn’t want to take wine). It was a birthday celebration meal for my wife, she went to Sushi Saito the week before and was a little disappointed so we were going without huge expectations.


First off, the staff were polite and friendly and tried to make conversation, didn’t push us to order wine (I had taken COVID vaccine earlier in the day so didn’t want to take wine).


The sushi bar was spacious as they only seated 6 people due to social distancing and had a relaxing vibe to enjoy the meal.


The ingredients were not very fancy but you could tell a lot of effort was put in to achieve the taste the chef wanted. My favourite dish was the abalone, not because of the abalone itself but the abalone sauce mixed with sushi rice that came after eating the abalone.


We enjoyed the sushi pieces as they were not just all about the freshness of the ingredients, as each piece seems to have its own sauce or favour to go with it, which distinguished Sushi Shikon from other sushi places.


Chef Yoshitake started off seemingly very serious but as the night progressed we found that this seriousness only applied to his sushi preparation and he was actually very nice to talk with.


Overall a very enjoyable experience!!!
