Boyfriend and I decided to explore the Kwai Hing/Kwai Chung area as I noticed new restaurants that popped up. We stopped at a new building called Life@KCC. Filled with several new restaurants, we decided on 大公雞 for lunch.Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge and you pay at the cashier on your way out. Boyfriend ordered the beef brisket rice ($58). The beef brisket was fantastic. The flavor was rich. The beef was so tender, it fell apart. There was a good number of tendon and boyfriend gave it to me as he doesn't like it.
I had the beef shank, intestine and tripe noodles ($62). Portion size was a lot more than the rice. The shank was tender and quite good. The tripe was thickly cut. The intestine was ok. Not cleaned well as it still had that oddly skanky odor if it's not prepared properly.
Food came out very fast and it was an inexpensive price. Tasted ok and portion size was not big but at least you didn't leave starving.
