Red City Cafe was a pretty flashy looking cha chan teng. It was hard not to miss with it's pretty looking exterior. Inside was just as flashy and quite large as well.Menu is in Englis and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. As we were here during afternoon tea time, they had a tea set menu that included a standard drink. Boyfriend ordered a Fried Spicy Mince Beef with Rice ($48). Portion wasn't too big but it also wasn't very good. Just a fried rice that was tossed with basic chilli sauce. Not a lot of mince beef as well but they added preserved vegetables which was a bit unexpected.
I ordered the Deep Fried Chicken Thigh with Salad ($42). This took a long time to arrive. I think I waited half an hour. The chicken was just cooked with some bits near the bone still a bit pink. The salad wasn't good at all. Soggy and oddly warm.
Food wasn't good at all. I guess it's popular as there aren't that many choices for cha chan tengs in this area. We definitely won't be back.
