Before no dine-in rule after 6pm started, we decided to have something nice for our Xmas celebration. Since we loved Japanese food, my wife suggested 瀛燒居酒屋 as their reviews are quite positive. It was located at Heung Wo Street, Tsuen Wan, several minutes walk from Tsuen Wan West MTR. Being an izakaya restaurant, their menu was comprehensive, serving a wide range of alcoholic drinks and food such as appetizers, yakitori, sashimi, sushi, fried items, noodle or rice etc. We ordered peach and grape

We ordered peach and grape soda, which were gassy and refreshing, having a sweet taste.
Sliced octopus with wasabi - The portion was bigger than usual, and octopus was chewy and juicy, absorbing the essence of the wasabi and was appetizing.
Fried chicken soft bone was fried till crispy and the bone was chewy and crunchy, with mayo sauce provided to enhance the taste.
Tamagoyaki with mentaiko - Egg was cooked till very soft and smooth, and mentaiko was flavourful, complimenting well with the sweetness of the egg.
We ordered few yakitori to try, namely beef cubes, ox tongue, pork, eel, chicken wings and minced chicken sticks. They were marinated till juicy and sweet, and beef was tender, pork was chewy and chicken was soft and smooth. Eel was grilled crispy and soft.
Since the weather was cold, we ordered a pot of shabu shabu, with udon. Soup was clear and sweet, and those vegetables were fresh and crunchy. Tofu was soft and smooth and pork was chewy. Egg was provided to add onto the soup. Udon was chewy and smooth, going well with the soup.
Grilled rice ball was crispy on the outside, and yet the rice inside was still soft and chewy, flavourful as well.
