Overated cheesecake

Had tea with friend and ordered its reputable American cheesecake. I was disappointed. It doesn't have a rich cheesecake flavor and the texture is not creamy enough (it's a bit lumpy, more like the Italian style rather than American). I think Sweet Secrets makes it better than the Mandarin. The cappucino was also only so-so. Once again, I didn't taste good coffee bean flavor. I was going to sign up for its cheesecake class but don't think I'm going after this tasting. If anybody visits New York, go to the Venerio's Bakery in east village for a real taste of "New York Cheesecake".
