It seems whenever I meet boyfriend in Wanchai, we always end up here for lunch. Or more like afternoon tea because by the time he gets here, it's already after 2 PM and I'm too hungry to choose where else to eat. So, we call it our usual and for some reason, we always sit in the same table. The one in the corner by the window.During afternoon tea time, they have a tea time menu. It's in English and Chinese. During afternoon tea time, they have a tea time menu. It's in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. There is a good variety of items (but before the renovations, they used to have more). They also have other items and a daily lunch deals that are in Chinese only. But those ones come with a Chinese soup.
I decided to go with the usual cha chan teng classic. A stir fried beef rice noodle ($41) and comes with a drink. It was not too bad. Not overly oily yet the was still fragrant enough from the hot wok. The beef wasn't over soaked with baking soda like most places. But it was still soft.
The food isn't great but we always seem to come back. Don't try the Japanese curry. Boyfriend had that and he said it tasted like spicy oyster sauce. I had the deep fried chicken leg once. It was a bit burnt. I don't knwo why we keep coming back.
