Winter is fast approaching... Are you thinking "hotpot" yet? Well, thanks to the ever so catchy MTR ads, the Cheese Fondue promotion at Spaghetti House made it on my to-eat list. (Those metro ads really do get one's attention.) As part of a friend's birthday celebration, we decided to have a go at Spaghetti House. Since this friend has not tried Cheese Fondue before, I thought the less traditional taste at Spaghetti House should be a good start for her. And so the Deluxe Fondue for $388 it was.

In terms of variety, the food was indeed diverse with the platter of meatballs, mussels, cocktail sausages, fries, pasta, etc. There were also a smoked salmon salad and a roast-beef salad. As for the taste, I found the fondue blend. I could not taste any cheese and I had the impression of eating hot cream. It was rather disappointing really.
The surprise did not stop there. My friend who learned that we had to pay $60 for extra cheese told the waitress to add hot water in the pot. When I got over the shock, it was already too late. The originally tasteless cream turned into a watery liquid. Thinking back, I am surprised the waitress did not question this request at all. One good thing about this dinner was that by using certain credit cards, we got two complimentary glasses of white wine. I think the next time I go to Spaghetti House I will stick with pasta or pizza.
