Last month, we decided to go to have Chiu Chow food to celebrate friends birthday.One of our friend came later, so we ordered the food first. We ordered Pan Fried Silver Fish With Egg, Sliced Soyed Goose, a bowl of Double Boiled Pig's Stomach & Salted Vegetable Soup, Stewed Assorted Vegetable with Chinese Ham and Baby Oyster with Mince Meat Congee.When my other friend arrived, the food were served within 5mins after we asked them to do so, that's effective, perhaps we ordered 15mins in advance.
One of our friend came later, so we ordered the food first. We ordered Pan Fried Silver Fish With Egg, Sliced Soyed Goose, a bowl of Double Boiled Pig's Stomach & Salted Vegetable Soup, Stewed Assorted Vegetable with Chinese Ham and Baby Oyster with Mince Meat Congee.
When my other friend arrived, the food were served within 5mins after we asked them to do so, that's effective, perhaps we ordered 15mins in advance. Basically the dishes served all together, our tasting sequence as follow:
First, we had the Goose, that' really nice, tender, juicy, no bones; there is tofu underneath the meat as other chiu-chow restaurant.
Then we had the soup, the pepper is strong enough, felt the warm-air from my throat to stomach. One of my friend said the organs usually had some unpleasant favor, so we ordered a bowl to share, after tasted a sip, he couldn't find that favor.
Next, we shared the silver fish with egg, honestly, I seldom eat silver fish, I have no clue what taste it should be, anyway, the fishes were bigger than I expected; the dish was a bit oily.
Following, we had the congee, there were quite a lot of baby oysters inside, the soup was ok. My friends love it very much!
At last, we tried the veggie, well, veggie were ok, but the Chinese Ham was too salty and the sauce as well. Luckily, we had the soup and congee as diluter.
In conclusion, the goose was the best of that night. Definitely order at my next visit.
