I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT !!I have been an avid reader of open rice but I have never posted. This is because I am normally an understanding person and do not wish ill on anyone. I have been an avid reader of open rice but I have never posted. This is because I am normally an understanding person and do not wish ill on anyone. However, my recent experience was shockingly bad and compelled me to actually sign up on open rice to write a review.
I went to Myung Ga with some friends for mid-autumn festival dinner. Given that this restaurant is a "higher end" Korean restaurant, I went there with hopeful expectations.
A) Food. We ordered the expensive Korean Hanwoo beef. For the price, it was OK. But what was very disappointing was the side dishes. They only gave a few side dishes and it tasted "cheap". Either the chef does not know Korean cuisine or the restaurant is trying to cut corners. Made me wonder where else the restaurant is cutting corners.
B) Very inappropriate behaviour by the chef. I noticed that the chef would come out from time to time, and yell and curse at his staff. This was really unpleasant. Then the chef started to drink with some customers and quickly got drunk. Not only did he start to yell and curse more at his staff, but he started to yell and curse the customers ! INCLUDING ME. I did not speak to him and I don't know why he would yell at his customers.
This totally ruined the atmosphere of our dinner and we quickly left.
The management of this restaurant should fire this chef.
As I wrote, I normally do not wish ill on anyone, but the chef's behaviour to his staff and customers is unacceptable.
