Dinner on Thurs 30 January at 8.30pm (friends reservation) arrived at 8.30 and waited 15min for the table. So this is the newish one option prix fixe menu restaurant in Soho. So no need to sugar coat this review as its really just steak and chips. A few pieces of salad greens with a dressing is not a salad but it did come out as the obligatory starter. Onto the steak itself, a entrecote cut or rib eye as its known to most or a scotch fillet by aussies. Ordered medium rare, and was pretty close
Ordered medium rare, and was pretty close maybe a tad closer to medium but can't complain. The cut itself can be quite fatty and this was the case with many of the guests steak on my table. It was juicy and tasty but nothing special. Chips were the french fry variety and came heaped onto the plate and even offered more by the waiter if you liked, but I had enough with the first serve. An old school desert man wheels around trolley offering up his wares. Maybe other diners were hungry as he ran out of cake by the time I was served but what I tried of my friends cake was prety good.
We also ordered the house red wine. Not a bad drop and accompanied the steak quite well. Overall a nice place and what you see is what you get so don't expect any more or any less.
Cost was $258 +10%
