This chain will be getting my custom again if only for the incredibly reasonable customer service I received. I haven't been to this part of Mong Kok for a morning coffee and cake for a while and on auto-pilot I headed for this unit on the 1st floor of the Grand Plaza building. I thought it looked like they'd redecorated a bit but like I said, it had been quite a while. Upon ordering I presented my loyalty card with five stamps already marked and at that point the waiter pointed out that the restaurant had changed, it was no longer The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Instead of simply handing my card back non-stamped she transferred over all of my stamps to a new Segafredo loyalty card, she didn't have to do this but the fact she did has guaranteed that I will return.

I ordered a cappuccino and the crazy red velvet cheese cake. The cappuccino was nice, about two centimetres of milky-tasting foam (in contrast to the flavourless foam you get in some places), and the coffee it's self was a mellow flavour, not overpowered by the milk which is how I prefer it. The cheesecake was good once I had readjusted my expectations, it really is half and half, the standard cheesecake base has been replaced by red velvet cake which makes for a much lighter feeling overall bite. The 'cheese' part didn't quite have enough of that sour tang that you associate with a good cheesecake which meant that it was a touch on the sweet side but enjoyable nonetheless.

I will definitely come back for the coffee and maybe to try another of the very interesting range of cakes.
