Boyfriend and I came here for lunch before going to see a movie. There wasn't a line and plenty of room so we came here.Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin, as the name suggests, serves tonkatsu or panko crumbed deep fried meat. Pork being the most popular meat. The originating restaurant hails from Tokyo and now has branches in various areas around Asia including Hong Kong. The menu is in both English and Chinese with plenty of nice photos and are mostly sets. Sets include miso soup, pickles, all you can eat

The menu is in both English and Chinese with plenty of nice photos and are mostly sets. Sets include miso soup, pickles, all you can eat rice and all you can eat salad. During lunch hour, the sets include chawanmushi.
Seating is spacious and comfortable. Each table has a set of sauces. Two is for salad and there is tonkatsu for the pork.
Pork Loin Cutlet Set ($98). Pork loin cutlet set came with a pile of cabbage salad which was ok. I'm not a big fan of this type of salad but oddly boyfriend, who hates anything green in color, loves it. The miso soup had pork in it so it gave a bit more depth of meat flavor to the miso.
The pork loin was moist and juicy. It was not oily at all and quite good.
Chawanmushi was ok. A bit overcooked as it wasn't smooth enough.
Minced Pork with Cheese Set ($113). This was like three croquettes. There was a bit of gooey cheese in the middle of the minced pork. Fried not too oily so good enough for me. It was also a bit saltier.
Decent enough tonkatsu sets for a reasonable price. Nice and clean with efficient service. We were finished within the hour to catch our movie.
