We planned to have buffet for dinner tonight and finally decided upon Hotpot Foodie. It was located at  Chong Yip Street, few minutes walk from Ngau Tau Kok MTR.The restaurant was huge and spacious, suitable for couple or family gathering. There were alot of soft drinks and herbal drinks in the fridge. Pear and sea coconut drink was clear and refreshing while Korean milkis drink was smooth and milky, sweet in taste.

For their buffet, there was a procedure for us to eat step by step. Their first dish was herbal soup, followed by 6 appetizers that we can select from. Herbal soup was clear and nourishing, not too oily and no MSG tasted. French fries was fried till soft and crispy while chicken feet in abalone sauce was very soft and smooth, juicy as well.

We were able to choose either sour vegetable fish or mala chicken pot, so we chose chicken pot. We were able to choose the level of spiciness, thus the chicken was cooked till slightly spicy, chewy and juicy.

Sashimi platter consisted of prawn, scallop, salmon, hamachi and hokkigai sashimi. It was presented in a huge glass bowl, colourful and pleasing to the eyes. Sashimi were fresh and sweet in taste, with wasabi provided to enhance the freshness.

The chef was generous with the serving of seafood platter, with alot of seafood in it such as razor shells, clams, abalone, fish, oyster and prawns etc. As we chose century egg and coriander soup as our hotpot soup base, it was clear and healthy. Those seafood were fresh and chewy, sweet in taste.

The highlight of this buffet must be the beef platter. Their beef came from USA, Australia, Japan and Chaoshan. The beef was sliced till thin in texture, with alot of marbling on it. Beef was very tender and juicy, able to taste the freshness. We ordered Japanese pork as well, cooked till soft and chewy.

We ordered their handmade prawn and cuttlefish paste, which were fresh and chewy, with real meat in it.
