Ginger Ginger is trattoria styled fusion kitchen featuring a selection of thin crust pizzas and various pastas, and other typical Western entrée fare. The décor is simple but clean, with white walls and wooden furnishings as a confident testimony to their tidiness. We sampled a typical staple course consisting of their Signature Platter, Penne Carbonara, and “Spain” pizza. The platter consisted of chicken in a rice paper roll, pork neck prepared in garlic, Buffalo wings, and two shrimp cakes. The buffalo wings did not come with the typical buffalo wing sauce, but an array of dipping sauces including a hot sauce resembling a tabasco ketchup, a cilantro garlic oil, and a chipotle mayonnaise.
The pizza was more of a cheese party, relying on chunks of tomato for acidity instead of the regular tomato sauce. This was probably due to the unbelievably paper thin crust that served as the base of the pizza. They did not skimp out on the cheese though, resulting in a deceptively rich pie with two different kinds of cheeses. The parma ham was definitely the crown of the dish; the thin shavings complementing the base of the pizza. It’s served on a wooden serving
peel.
The penne carbonara was also heavy on the dairy, but not overseasoned. The serving was generous, and definitely enough to fill a person. The pasta was also well cooked, only a little past al dente. I definitely think that anyone can come in and walk away full and satisfied with nothing but a drink and an entrée.
