Had not been here for quite awhile, so was looking forward to it when I brought my family here for dinner last week. We were given a table upstairs on the window side, which offered a great view of the Hong Kong skyline and night lights. The menu was similar to before, offering an extensive choice of international cuisine. However as we had one vegetarian in our group we found the number of vegetarian dishes quite limited. While we were looking at the menu nobody came to take our drinks order.
While we were looking at the menu nobody came to take our drinks order. We had to wave to a staff to ask for water. Throughout our dinner there was no initiative to refill our water either and we always had to ask (sometimes 2-3 times) before our glasses were refilled. Quite frustrating.
Dosa
An Indian pancake filled with potatoes and served with various condiments. It was yummy and the pastry tasted fresh, although not as crispy as what you get in a proper Indian restaurant.
The presentation was great. The crispy salads blended well in the soft rice rolls. A healthy and refreshing dish.
This was from the chef's special sustainable seafood menu. A great dish for sharing as there were about 5-6 pieces of ravioli and each was quite a large piece. The salmon filling tasted fresh and not fishy at all, and the mild chili in the sauce added a tangy flavour.
This was served on a hot stone grilled plate with various vegetable strips. The seabass was cooked perfectly, with crispy skin on the outside and tender soft meat on the inside. It was fine just to have it with a bit of lemon juice, while the green tandoori sauce provided a stronger flavour. The naan bread that came as a side dish didn't really complement the main dish though. The dough was a bit soggy, although the yoghurt sauce on the side was nice.
Porcinci Ravioli
After our chase, the waiter promised to get our soups served first, but they didn't come for another 20 mins. Meanwhile the remaining pasta dish arrived. Similar to the salmon version, the raviolis were large and filled with generious amount of porcini mushrooms. The creamy sauce was nice and not too heavy.
After the long wait the soup turned out to be quite disappointing - while it had a nice aroma the soup itself was watery. And to add to my disspointment of the service - when I asked if the soup comes with bread, the waiter simply said there would be a charge - and he would recommend ordering the naan bread (the one I just had!) because that would be faster... no thanks...
題外話/補充資料:
Hope they will improve their staff training and bring back higher quality of service, otherwise it may lose its reputation fast...
