My parents suggested to meet up for dinner and they recommended hotpot. After some research, I decided on The Drunken Pot. It was a new style of eating hotpot, which deviated away from the traditional way. It was located at Observatory road, around 7 minutes walk from Tsim Sha Tsui MTR. Their menu was very extensive and comprehensive, offering a wide range of selection. It included soup base, seafood, meat, noodles, vegetables and beverages etc.
Shortly after we were seated, the staff placed a big tray on our table, with several sauces for us to mix and match.
The sketch pot (tomato seafood) - This was the first time we ate hotpot this way. When the waiter served a big pot on our table, it was a white foam forming on the whole surface. They served us colour squeeze and bits chips for us to decorate on the surface. We created our own masterpiece, and after few minutes, the cream started to melt and dissolved into the hotpot. It was tomato soup base, thus it was sweet and creamy. There were several prawns, mussels and squids etc. Prawns were juicy and chewy and the mussels were chewy and smooth too.
Premium sliced Mongolian mutton - The texture was very thin and it was tender and smooth, melting in my mouth.
Deep fried homemade salted egg and seaweed roll - It only took few seconds for it to be cooked, and the roll was juicy and soft. Salted egg taste was strong as well.
Assorted fortune bag - It came in 3 different colours as in different flavours, with black truffle squid ink, quail egg and teriyaki beef. Black truffle taste was strong and flavourful, quail egg was creamy and smooth and teriyaki beef was tender and juicy.
Salted egg deep fried fish skin - It can be eaten directly or dipped into hot pot. If eaten directly, it was very crispy and crunchy, with slight salted egg taste. Even when it was dipped, it still retained its crispiness.
Salted egg xiao long bao - The skin was slightly tough, and when i took a bite, those juice came flowing out. Salted egg was strong and flavourful.
Assorted vegetables - We ordered a big bowl of vegetable to help us to digest easier, as we ordered too much meat. The servings were very huge and those vegetables were fresh and crunchy.
Sichuan fish maw - The mala taste was strong and fragrant, and the fish maw was extremely chewy and tender, smooth as well.
Summer delight - It was mixed with pineapple juice and mango juice. It was milky and sweet, smooth as well.
